Tikka T3, Finnbear, Howa 1500, Wby. Vanguard, Begara

Functions exactly as advertised, helped me to run dry patches to collect the factory oil and carbon from the test rounds. After my new T3x Lite's first trip to the range, used this bore guide to clean the bore again with a rod, jag and patches soaked with Hoppe's. Kept the guide in there for multiple patches until they came up mostly clean and then ran one more patch with Hoppe's gun lube. Possum Hollow's guide stayed in place the whole time. Also used this in a pinch in a Remington 700 BDL .270 and although not a perfect fit, it worked.

I bought this for my Howa 1500 because, even though it is made from high-quality steel, I don't want to damage the throat of the action with the cleaning rod. This product will keep the rod guided into the bore (hence the name) safely while protecting the throat. It has one job and it does it well. I just wish it came with a slot at the entry point for applying solvent to the patch. Not a deal killer, but a nice extra. Well made. Be sure to get an extra "O" ring for it, as they never last.

Nice fit

This is an excellent bore guide and fits perfectly inside the action of my Weatherby Vanguard S2 308. The guide is machined nicely of solid Delrin. It comes packaged in a plastic tube with a cap, and includes two spare o-rings.The guide is very simple to use. You simply remove the bolt from your rifle, and insert the guide until it bottoms out in the receiver. You then insert your cleaning rod through the guide and into the barrel.I took off one star for two reasons. (1), it really should come with a solvent port. But on this brand you need to buy it separately. (2) is that this was my second Possum Hollow bore guide purchase. My first was from another retailer, and it was for the #53 Bore guide. The vendor's reference guide on their website incorrectly lists the #53 guide as the one that fits a Weatherby Vanguard 308. It does not. It is quite short, and is designed for the Thompson Center Contender. Unfortunately, by the time I got around to using the original bore guide, and discovering it did not fit, it was too late to return it. I contacted the vendor with no response, so it was necessary for me to purchase this version which owners on other forums said it fit this gun/caliber.
