I purchased both Gene & GutBiome and this Gut Microbiome test kits. I am glad I bought both kits because the information provided by both kits are different but equally helpful. This Gut Microbiome Test provides very detailed information about my gut health/profile and makes recommendations based on it - these recommendations specific to my gut profile make a lot better sense than those generic health tips online. Also, I have tried many probiotic products and I have always had a hard time finding the right product (with the right strains) for myself. This test provides my probiotics profile as well, which I found so helpful! Highly recommend this test to anyone!

Lately, I have been very concerned with my overall gut health. I felt some signs of gut disturbances like bloating, heart burn, and upset stomach. As it is this is not a great product and the frustrating part is it is trivial to fix this. They use a threshold in the report and all species below the threshold are not reported. This dramatically cuts down on the information that you have. You can get a much larger amount of information from Thryve because they do not use this threshold. I requested the raw data by email and the file they gave me still had the threshold applied. It is really sad because this would be the best product on the market if they would fix this.

Last year, I used a $500 kit to find out I had a leaky gut. That sampling kit that the clinic recommended involved 3 separate sampling over a month and worst of all, I had to keep the collected samples in the refrigerator. According to my friends and the company website, I can get the same kind of check in one shot. So I gave it a try for a second opinion. It's much simpler to use than I expected. Especially the paper trap that came with the kit was so convenient. Just one dip with a Q-tip, that was it. It's a quick and very economical way to find out about your gut health. I recommend this product to everyone.

I have done Viome microbiome testing in the past, and it was much more comprehensive. These test results did not include any of the viruses in your gut, or outline the foods to avoid based on the bacteria in your gut (just mentions general guidelines based on what is healthy), not taking into account allergies, dietary preferences, or foods that would specifically harm you. This really did not provide the answers I needed or was looking for, would not buy again.

I wanted to know if there was something in my microbiome or gut that could explain the fatigue, IBS symptoms, bloating, weight gain and chronic constipation for years! So, I purchased this kit because it seems the only one that tells your gut health among the kits from other major DNA testing companies. The test arrived quickly, was very straightforward to do and send back, taking very little time. Unfortunately, it takes time to get the result, but overall I found this microbiome DNA test very interesting.

Should have read all the disclaimers first. This report is so, so above the heads of the ordinary lay person and offers no good advice. They even tell you that. Got it as a birthday present for my honey and now I've got to get something else. What a waste of time and energy...not to mention $135+...
