This book originally by World renown Archaeologist Dr. Joseph Free and now revised by his student Dr. Howard Vos is full of insights into not only how the archaeological finds relate to biblical events but also the methods used historically by archeologist to locate and record their finds that have led to these insights. Archaeology and Bible History does not read like a textbook filled with technical data that the average reader would be bored to death over. It is an easy reader that will open the eyes to those seeking a better understanding of how the Bible and the historical record of human growth and development compare using known archaeological finds to establish the truth of the statements made. If you are a student of Bible history this is an excellent book to add to your collection of Latourette's Church History along with Dr. Vos' book "Archaeology in Bible Lands". I enjoyed reading Archaeology and Bible History. It has given me a better understanding of biblical events in history and I am sure it will do the same for you. This book will be enjoyed not only by the average Christian but by the non-religious reader as well. I highly recommend it to both.

This is the type of Archaeological Reference book I have been looking for. As the author chronologically walks you through the Bible he provides the appropriate archaeological discoveries to bear witness to the truth for the subject at hand. The author is very clear and concise. He keeps his personal comments to a minimum. Consequently, he provides you with a very objective accounting for the archaeological evidence that supports the authenticity of the Bible.

I looked a several Bible archaeology books in a Life Way store and did not fine what i wanted. This book tells the history of the Bible and the supporting archaeologt details starting in Geneis to the end of the Bible. There are topic titles which allow you to read a short ection and then come back and pick it up easily. For me, it was an excellant buy.

Absolutely enthralling! Very revealing and educational!

This is a great reference book. So much history in the Bible is difficult to relate to with out knowning the culture and the geography at the time it was written. This easy to read book tells what was happening in the life of the people involved and the political climate of the day.

Excellent book for teaching biblical archaeology class using Bible as the final authority.

I am taking a Biblical Archaeology class in college, and I love to read all of the sites, all of the artifacts that Experts have found, and to me it brings the Bible more to life for me. I would indeed refer this book to any one that wants to read more about the history of the Bible.
