From a Tool Snob
I was looking for a replacement cat's paw after my Exhumer was showing some signs of serious abuse and rust. I decided to go with this particular cat's paw after hearing some good things about the company and was even told by some people that it was the 2nd best cat's paw out there (Stiletto being the best, supposedly). Well... I couldn't afford a Stiletto so I decided to give this guy a try.My use is mostly rough carpentry, including framing, trusses, and decking. I'm mostly pulling 8d and 12d (a few 16d) nails, and the spacing on the two ends seems to be perfect for that. I like how it grabs the nails but it lacks slightly in weight (I'd actually prefer it to be a little heavier) and it doesn't have a punch to dent the wood around the nails for a cleaner removal. The punch (found on the Exhumer and the Stiletto) is only a minor flaw since I don't get bonus points for making the wood pretty in my uses.Overall, I'd rate this about equal to my Exhumer. If they had babies and made a "Sharumer" (sounds German?), that would be a heck of a cat's paw. Either way, I switch between this cat's paw and my Exhumer depending on what kind of mood I am in or whether I had a big lunch.Another benefit of this cat's paw is the finishing. I've abused this cat's paw quite a bit already and the paint still hasn't chipped. Once the paint starts chipping and I get some work in the rain, I'll let y'all know how it holds up.Pros:- Good grabbing skills- Lightweight- Nice finish and paintCons:- A little too lightweight for my likings- I wouldn't mind it being maybe 3/4" longer, maybe- Nail punch to put dents around nails for clean removal

While I like the size and design of this brand of nail ...
While I like the size and design of this brand of nail puller aka "cats paw", they are ultimately junk. Have had two different sizes and they both broke a tooth, just doing what they are supposed to do..pull nails..literally astounded as to how one claw just breaks off...and for twenty something dollars spent on the last one couldn't be more disappointed. the design is nice but if you want something reliable stick with a stanley, not that I've ever bought one but that's what I always end up borrowing when I need one that works

My nailpull
The steel on this thing is HARD which means to me that the claws on these things stay sharp and ready to dig into whatever I want. That being said the harder the steel the more brittle it gets, so wear protective gear when putting the nuts to it. I personally have never shatter one but I've read it does happen from time to time. I love it though great shape design and length, if you only have one nail pull get this one you will not be disappointed.

king of all cats paws
I bought this cat paw after my old stanley got to wide at the claws and this is a beast of a tool. it is longer than a normal one and this gives you more leverage which is very nice. pulls gun nails out very easily. if your a framer or carpenter this will be a new favorite tool. also check out their flat bar which i bought before this, also a really good product.

This is a great tool. We are using it to remove nails in our deck, so we can "flip" it. We have removed hundreds of "spiraled" deck nails, and it has pulled every one. I highly recommend it.

Well hardened steel- truly a rare find nowadays. Worth the money.
The best steel out there in cats paws. Explains why you can't get them at the big box stores- way too high quality. However, I can't find use for the ultra wide jaw opening, you could pull a lag bolt with it. Problem is, makes it a lot more mess and effort going in for a buried gun nail, and that nail head can duck right through the gap as you drive right on by :-)

Great tool to have
I find myself using this little tool all the time. It fits easily in my tool bucket and it is quite solid and sturdy. Great lever action and will rip up even the nails with the little heads on them. I also carry a flat bar, which is another indespensable tool, but this thing is nice to have due to the cat's paw digging action you can achieve to get out those embedded nails. If the nail is long, I find myself putting a piece of wood under the tool for additional prying action. All in all a great tool that will last and you can rely on.
