Convert Open Carrier to Enclosed Cargo Space
This bag sits on your hitch-mount cargo carrier and converts it to enclosed (easier to tie down) cargo space, protected from the elements. Check dimensions, as it's too long for our carrier with ramp, but fits the normal carrier well (only 1-2 inches wasted). The integral straps wrap around the rails/frame of your carrier to hold the bag in place and cinch the load to minimize flapping of the fabric. The zipper runs around near the top of three sides (ends and one long side) so the top folds out of the way for easy loading. A flap secured by Velcro covers the zipper to keep the elements out. Fabric is reasonably sturdy, but a focused/sharp load on the bottom might warrant some kind of pad to distribute the load and keep it from wearing through or penetrating the fabric.I would not try to carry this away from the hitch rack with much of a load in it, but rather treat it like more enclosed vehicle space.Recommended.Review of: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MBJ2S9R?th=1"CargoSmart Soft Sided Hitch Mount Cargo Bag – Adds up to 13 Cubic Feet of Storage – Weatherproof Bag Fits on Vehicle’s Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier – Heavy-Duty Vinyl"(Style: 13 CU FT Hitch Mounted Cargo Bag)

Great way to protect and contain cargo
We have a 1.25" HitchMaster cargo rack for my Corolla. This bag fits perfectly inside, although the straps don't line up perfectly with the attachment points on the rack. You can fudge it pretty well though. The bag is really sturdy and the zippers are solid. The rubbery fabric of the bag's top overhangs the zipper so rain won't fall in, but if you have water splashing up from the ground then it could possibly seep in a bit around the zipper. The bag has a good amount of storage. We car camp (in the Corolla) and we always overpack, plus we have a huge cooler. Now that we have a large dog, we can't stuff the back seat of the car like we used to. But about a third of our stuff fits in this bag. I would suggest that you put your stuff in a garbage bag or something before loading it, until you know how leakproof the bag is with your rig. I want to be able to set up and take down our tents and bedding in under about 10 minutes, but that means we need to haul bigger stuff like cots. Now I think we will actually have room!I had some trouble putting the straps in the right way so they can tighten down properly but that's probably a personal problem. I didn't see a user guide to straighten that out though. Maybe mine was lost. Regardless I'm going to use a couple of ratcheting strap sets to hold the bag and cargo in the flatbed rack.

Not impressed with the design but it does work.
I ordered the "CargoSmart Soft Sided Hitch Mount Cargo Bag - Adds up to 13 Cubic Feet of Storage - Weatherproof Bag Fits on Vehicle's Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier - Heavy-Duty Vinyl" to use with my cargo hitch mount. Upon receiving the cargo bag, I was expecting it to be a bit thicker and was disappointed in the design however it does the job at keeping your gear dry, covered and concealed. As for the design, I would have preferred it to have a "top fill" with a flap to come up and over the top and zip closed rather than the side fill. Now with that said, this cargo bag does function as designed. And though it's not as thick as I expected, it does its job at keeping gear dry, so far. (I've yet to use this on a long rainy road trip but I would trust that it would perform well.)The included straps hold the cargo bag in place quite well and I appreciate the built in "belt loops" on the top of the cargo bag that help keep it secure.Although it's a little wonky to fill and not as thick as I expected, overall it's a great value and I see it holding up to many years of use.

Great waterproof bag, can use on hitch carrier or roof rack
I am really liking these CargoSmart cargo bags. We use this bag when not pulling our trailer in addition to our top cargo bag on top of our GMC Yukon. It also works well as designed on a hitch carrier. This works well with our older hitch carrier. The straps go through the decking to help hold this bag in place. There are 3 attached loops in the top for the straps to go through for more security. They are made out of a thick pool like material. They have a nice large zipper and Velcro to keep the flaps down over the zipper. The bag opens across the front & a little on each side. For our one night I am packing for we have a cooler, 4 sleeping bags & pads, pillows and a few other items with room to spare. It is great having a lot of waterproof storage to get all of these items out of the car so it is not cramped. No complaints so far :-)

Bug-out bag or just extra stuff to tote. Fits hitch mount carrier.
We're using this on our hitch mount cargo carrier and it's a perfect fit. It seals up very nicely. It rained the whole trip we used it with and got not a drop on the stuff inside. I had thought we'd use it as a bug-out bag for the truck, but we have another trip coming up and it may have to wait til after that. The straps feel like nylon, very strong and are well-sewn. The bag has reinforced patches for extra strength that the straps slide through. Adjustable. It's a good thick vinyl, feels very sturdy and is well-constructed.Even if you don't have a hitch mount carrier, this could be used on a roof mount although it won't be particularly aerodynamic. It could also just be used inside for anything you want contained. For us, it's seriously useful and proved itself on the first trip.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - It's an Amazon program where many things you buy every day will generate a small donation from Amazon to the charity of your choice.
