FASHION HISTORY : A GLOBAL VIEW, 1ST EDITION (Dress, Body, Culture)

Very disappointed
If you are genuinely interested on learning about fashion history, don’t buy this book. This book starts off saying the same statement over and over again on how civilizations who are not American nor European are not included in fashion history, basically telling you that fashion history needs to be more inclusive told in many different ways instead of just simply giving you actual information on historical periods and the way people dressed. I may not have read the book completely, only making it through the first two chapters, but I honestly felt exhausted and started to realize the kind of book this was. Instead of telling me over and over again on how fashion history needs to be more inclusive, why not just make a book on the way certain civilizations outside of the West dressed and adorned themselves within the context of their own culture? This book is a waste of time.

Misleading title
This book is not a review of fashion history, but rather an academic discussion and literature review. It has hardly any figures which makes the text additionally inaccessible.
