Shoreline Marine S.O.S. Distress Flag

Amazon wants me to review the Shoreline Marine S.O.S. Distress Flag, Rate a flag? Really? Ok, here we go, it's square, really square... like 3x3 square. Its bright orange although more tangerine with a hint on tangelo but we are splitting citrus hairs here. It has a big black dot and a big black dash ON BOTH SIDES ....whoa DUDE!!!! (pretty awesome if you ask me!). And to its credit the packaging really is good enough to use as permanent storage. Even better, when I trimmed the package to size it fit perfectly into my ditch kit which will make the Coasties, who will no doubt surprise me with an inspection at most inopportune moment some day, VERY VERY happy and we all like happy Coasties!!!! So, looking at my beautiful USCG approved 3x3 square orange/tangerine colored flag with the big black dot and a big black dash ON BOTH SIDES, I can almost say that this is the single most fantastic Amazon purchase I have ever made and has made my life worth living!

Nice and tidy package and good price. Hopefully I will never have to use it, but if I do I'm sure it will work fine...I opened the package and it felt really solid, didn't want to un-furl it in case it was difficult to put back into the nice folded shape it was in...I folded it in half and put it in a zip lock sandwich sized freezer bag and then into a waterproof box.

An essential item required for all boaters.

This safety distress flag is big, which is what you want for a distress flag. It fits nicely in the storage package, which is perfect. You are not going to pull it out & use it except in an emergency.

As described, meets the requirements for distress flag on my boat.

Reviews of other flags likened them to heavy duty trash bags. This one is more like a beach ball or inflatable raft material. Should hold up well if you need to use it multiple times.

Cheaper than Walmart good quality

Bought this to put on my boat after reading many of the other reviews. It's a very nice little light; worth buying. Pros: - very bright light - very visible light body - rechargeable battery w/charger - AAA battery insert for use with alkaline batteries. - nice little storage case. Cons: - none yet, but if any come up I'll amend my review

Nice sos flag very useful

Had my motor cut out and less than 30 seconds later boat came around the bend behind us... didnt even have time to pull this flag out started waving arms up and down and got the guys attention he offered to tow us if needed. I think flailing arms may have been more effective in this situation... if I pulled out the flag he would have had to know what it meant

Hope I never have to open it to see what its like.
