They may not be effective for every single cold, but my husband and I swear by them. They won't help much if you let a cold get really started, but when you get that first tickle or irritating sinus drainage that acts like a cold coming on, use two in quick succession and hit it hard the first couple days. Sometimes that's all it takes to keep the symptoms at bay and often times the cold is virtually gone. They leave an aftertaste and almost seem to dull the taste buds, but that's worth it to keep a cold from getting full blown and miserable. ### ⭐⭐⭐ non-compliance due to taste *by J***H on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2011* The directions say to dissolve one lozenge every 2 waking hours, so this essentially means non-stop all day long since the lozenges take FOREVER to dissolve in the mouth. I think they also affect taste sensitivity; I tasted nothing for a whole day after taking 2 or 3 lozenges, but then my taste came back after ~ 24 hours. Also, be advised that the zinc form is zinc gluconate, not zinc acetate.I don't know if it works, since I can't bring myself to take it as directed.I'd recommend purchasing only one bottle first if you want to try it yourself, but realize that one whole bottle will be needed for each person.
