I have only used this on the very basic level but it seems to able to do more. I do not chop logs or wood with my knives that are what axes are for, but for skinning hogs the H1 is great. Time will tell, hope this helps you. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great knife, best effort from Fallkniven *by on Reviewed in the United States April 28, 2021* An excellent offering from Fallkniven, probably their best effort.Pictured are some of the fixed blades in my collection, which includes other Fallkniven knives, ESEE, Mora, Bark River, Lionsteel and others.This knife beats them all.The part I believe they nailed best on this knife is the geometry of the blade. The convex grind, the steel used, and the easy re-sharpening of the steel, leads to an incredible knife for any camping, hunting or survival task.The sheath is excellent. It has a very secure locking mechanism and although there are reports of rattling in earlier models, mine had no such issue.I love the handle. I guess there are aftermarket ones but I wouldn't change a thing.For a production run knife, quality control and overall ability to get the job done are at the highest levels. I owned the original S1 and the handle was to small for my hand. I purchased S1x because I heard it was better and it was possible to replace hand scales.While driving a stake with the pommel one of the hand scales pealed back. What a let down, I repaired it with super glue. Anyway it’s a good survival knife. Because of the grind it stays sharp enough for finer tasks yet because of the weight it is a great chopper for the size.
