IS AS STATED
Bought on 12/12/2020-this is not a long term review.Style: EH-1002 Black sold by Yeswelder ships from Amazon. Packaged in factory Yeswelder box. It does come with 2 (3 total) extra front and 1 (2 total) inside replacement protection lens (easy to make more yourself to fit), 1 extra battery (2 total), dust/storage bag and detailed instructions/user booklet. 8 way head adjustment...head circumference and crown, forward/back face to front of hood, fine tune resting tilt degree up/down. Removable forehead pad -so you can clean it. Knobs on outside are adjustable to increase or decrease how tight the hood will hold in the tilt up flip down action. Works as stated. Easy to adjust outside dial 4/9-13. Position 4 (grinding) is the off position for the auto darkening electronics- it "clicks" to off when put in 4. Remove the coin battery if you are not going to use hood for and extended period of time (it even says this in the user booklet), say a week or so and the battery will last much longer. Adjustable sensitivity and delay work well. Nice mechanical spring action clips that hold the darkening module in place.Sort of known by most though I have seen some think that the solar panel charges batteries. That is not how the solar panels work on these....the solar panel works with the welding light source to supplement the replaceable coin battery while you are welding and work the darkening. The coin battery is to make the darkening work before you start welding. If it holds up over the years this is a great hood for the garage hobbyist. If you are a serious welder don't laugh at this hood, if I was serious welder I would buy a $300+ hood. If I don't edit this review in the next year or 2 then assume that the hood is still working. I like the truecolor- much better than the older tech.

The "True Color" is amazing. Incredible value for a helmet in this price range.
I've used quite a few welding lenses and this one is orders of magnitude better than 95% of the ones I've used. The helmet itself is ok quality. The fit is decent, it's light, comfort is alright. The adjustable sizing band comes a bit misshapen from shipping and isn't the most luxurious but it's easy to adjust with one gloved hand and gets the job done. In the end this is a cheap helmet so you're getting what you paid for from the helmet itself. But the lens. The lens is worth every cent on its own. This is the first cheap-ish lens I've used that comes even close to being usable for grinding etc. because you can actually see through it when it's not dark. And not only can you see through it but the colors really are much easier to see. It's a night and day difference from the old brown or green lenses where you could make out what you were looking at but had to lift the hood to get a really good look at what was going on.If you're looking for a starter helmet, this one will get the job done just fine and you'll be starting out in the lap of luxury, so to speak, compared with other auto-darkening lenses in this price range. If you haven't tried a "True Color" lens before, pick this up and give it a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised I promise.

Works well, comes with spare parts
This unit is hard to beat for the price. I am a very occasional welder and tried it out on a few practice pieces. The true color feature is really nice, switching time was good and the adjustment worked well. They included spare plastic lens covers and an extra button battery. I don't feel like you could go wrong with it at this price. I think the only thing I would change is it being able to rotate down a little more.

Big bang for the bucks.
I am by no means an experienced welder, with all of my experience being only the use of an MMA arc welder by Lincoln. This is my first auto darkening helmet, so I have no other experience to rate this by.From the pictures, you can see on the left side of the helmet, the shade darkening knob with a grind setting. Looking inside the helmet you can see the sensitivity setting and the delay setting for the the time back to clear. You can check the time on the back to clear setting by turning the grind knob on and off, the display will darken for the length of time set for the delay, with a maximum delay of approximately two seconds. You can also see the battery compartment to the far right, and in the picture of included lenses they have also included a spare battery. They have included two exterior cover lenses and one interior cover lens. It also comes with a cloth dust bag for helmet storage. There is a slight green tint looking through the display although colors are easily identifiable. It certainly isn't a deal breaker. As I said, I've only done bits and pieces of welding over the last 40 years using an arc welder and the old style flip up helmet. However this helmet sure seems to be packed with features for the low price of $34 I've only used this helmet for 5 minutes but I'm already sold on auto darkening helmets.I gave it five stars not because I believe it's the best auto darkening helmet money can buy, but rather because it may be the best auto darkening helmet that $34 can buy and it seems to have the features I need. Now it's just a question of longevity.
