This lamp is just what I needed for building models on my work bench. I received a similar but cheaper LED lamp as a gift from a (different manufacturer) that had the on off button fail after a couple of weeks and had to be returned. So I decided I had to spend more and this was the best choice for the features I wanted. Good range of motion and color modes options. I mount it from a shelf over my desk and it moves just where i want it to light up the model. The color modes are good for matching the paint colors to the light on places where I display the models. The blue lit buttons on top of the light are right where I can reach them and work very nicely. Would recommend buying this one. (Note the models LK1 LK2 and LK3 were a little confusing until I realized the only difference was the arm color.)

I had a similar desk light previously-- with this one, I can appreciate the nicer materials and matte finish as well as the modern touch controls and touch dimmer. The diffused light is a nice feature. The arms are a bit longer than some of the other options out there, which is why I picked this one. I can keep it high above my monitor which is adjusted for my tall height. Another nice feature is that it has tools to adjust the joint tension which I have already used since I prefer to keep the joints tighter so as not to move when I accidentally bump it or if I hit the touch controls too hard. I definitely recommend this! Tip: Out of the box, the light turns on at the dimmest setting, and I didn't initially notice this. Turning the touch dimmer all the way up gave great lighting for my desk.

I had hoped I would really like this lamp. I have tried many others but they all had some fault or another. This one is close to what I was looking for. The only downside is that it is not bright enough for my needs. I need bright light for reading and closeup work. I already have one gooseneck I like, so I think I will order another one of those.

First, I would like to thank the customer service from Phive, they are very helpful.The lamp is well built and the quality is very good. I like the ability to adjust the lamp to any position. The color temperature setting is also useful for different purposes. Usually I would select the warm light, but if I need to do any detail work, I would just switch to white light.I saw many reviews complained about the standby lights, I admit that this is somewhat annoying. But provided that there is a main switch to switch the lamp totally off, I am OK with that.All in all, this lamp is the best desk lamp I have ever had.

Nice design and adjustable led. Easy to assemble and get where you want it. Includes hex wrench for setup.

Set up is easy, if you have any mechanical aptitude. For the mechanically challenged, you get to play with levers, cantilevers and a ball joint. :-)But do not be afraid - it's not difficult to set up. RTFM, follow the instructions.It's sturdily made. And the multi-choice of light colors and intensity is excellent.It's well worth my money spent.

Updated review 2021:I have really come to dislike this lamp. And I've finally let go of sunk cost fallacy; I'm replacing it. The base wobbles, making fine adjustments nearly impossible. The tension requires constant adjustment (with an alan key) between "too rigid to move" and "limp noodle." And, dealbreaker, I'm just sick of the "struggles to illuminate the right work area from the right angle." The angle ranges for its adjustments are just weird, and never what I want.If you can put this lamp in one spot and tighten everything down and then never, ever move it again, it's probably fine. Otherwise, give it a miss. There are so many better options.Original review 2019:Of the three Phive lamps I own, this is my least favorite.The other two are both so over-the-top that this one feels like a bit of a letdown by comparison.The arms aren't quite long enough. The head swivel doesn't go quite far enough. When you adjust it up or down the connection to the base lifts up a bit before the hinge starts to move. This lamp frequently struggles to illuminate the right work area from the right angle.It does have the ability to change both color temperature and brightness of the light, which is the key thing I was looking for.But compared to the (cheaper) LED magnifier light, that other product has longer arms, better flexibility, more solidity, and there's literally no direction you can't make the light go. I wish I had two of those.

I bought this to add to my 60" 2 tier stand up desk. I have a smaller version that I had purchased a few months back. Both lamps provide plenty of light for my work space.
