Incredibly informative, well-written, and easy to follow book!
I bought this book as a new transplant in Boston. My mom came with me to explore and I bought this book, as everyone needs to do the Freedom Trail whilst in Boston. This book has so much information and savvy tips that made me more knowledgeable than my friend who had lived here for 9 years. For example, she had no idea that to the right of the Old South Meeting House (Stop 8) on 17 Milk Street is the birthplace of Ben Franklin. This hidden gem is not a part of the brick path and so I’m sure MOST people miss that 2nd story black plaque in the sparsely trodden street. It’s pretty darn incognito, but I was so grateful to this book as it was really special to see and peruse. You will find so many amazing tips and information in this book that will make you drool over the land you are standing on and the architecture you’re viewing. If you plan on doing the Freedom Trail, this book is a must buy!

Well Done!
I will be visiting Boston for the first time. I researched a number of guides and maps etc. and the Freedom Trail Boston by Steve Gladstone is the most thorough of all of them. I chose the Kindle version because it was convenient and very affordable. It is loaded with extra information and tips on things to do and see, where to eat, getting around Boston, and also some excellent budget suggestions. He also gives you links to his online resources which include an app for your phone and downloadable maps. There is a section describing some of the different walking tours available, both free and paid tours. It even includes sample itineraries with alternatives for 1/2 day and full day self-guided visits. The Kindle version can link you to an optional pre-translated version via Google-translate for a number of different languages. There is also a print version available, and he even includes a discount link for that. This guide is incredibly well done and brings history to life.

Good information, enhances the freedom trail experience
I bought this pamphlet, studied it, and then took my co-workers on a tour of the freedom trail when we were staying in Boston on business. They were all impressed and thought I was a well-educated history buff (not true). The facts about each stop on the trail are super interesting and you can identify graves of some very famous Americans. When my co-workers asked questions I didn't know the answer to, I just made something up and they just assumed I knew what I was talking about.

Just perfect for a tour of Boston
Freedom Trail Boston has just the right mix of content to make for a terrific tour of Boston's Freedom Trail. All of the stops have descriptions and pictures, but also the historical context that weaves through book, giving a quick telling of the big story - how Boston played such a critical role in the American Revolution. With many links and the ability to skip around, you don't need a linear reading of this material. This is the first book I've read that really takes advantage of the ebook format. Sometimes I find myself in Boston near one of the great landmarks and just wondering a little - but now I look forward to pulling up this book on my phone and finding out what it's about!

This book is a great read before/after the tour
Well-written and superb for all the background information it provides. However, a bit of advice: the Freedom Trail runs through busy Boston streets, so following the marked path is nearly impossible. Buy this book because it's excellent--but then do as I did: pay $15 to hire a live tour guide who will guide you through and share some mighty interesting stories about each stop on the Trail. This book is a great read before/after the tour.

Outdated
This book is loaded with historical facts, which I really enjoyed! The problem is that it is outdated:The QR codes would not connect to where it was supposed to go.Fees/prices were not correct. The “tips” were hardly useful.I found the same book while we were in Boston and it was cheaper and in color.

Freedom Trail Boston - Well Done
This is an excellent guidebook that we found very helpful in walking the Freedom Trail in Boston. My only criticism is that the print I quite small and, at times, hard to read depending upon the lighting conditions. For the average consumer it might make sense to reduce the verbiage and use a larger print size. Still a wonderful resource as is.
