An Eye Opening Book.....A Must Read!!!!!
I have been in church over 40 yrs and In ministry 30 yrs. I always felt and knew the tithing concept didn't add up. I turned a blind Eye to it all,(GOD FORGIVE ME)because i didn't want to buck the system . Despite that, i was a faithful tither for more than 20 years. Giving and Doubting over and over again, because I thought I would miss Gods Blessing But I thank God for those like David Lee that was willing to not only say but write what God has revealed to him and many others. What i'm referring to is "THE TRUTH ABOUT TITHING". I have read a few books on tithing, both for and against. This book is great!!! It not only tells you what tithing is, but also tells you the reason for tithing. It points you to Jesus being our once and for all Final Tithe. It is truly an eye opener, that I encourage you to read. The Author never strays away from scripture in explaining his Points. Every point that is given against Tithing for today's Church is backed by God(in scripture).PLEASE READ THIS BOOK it is truly an EYE OPENER!!!!!!!

"It's the Word"
I am now a senior citizen and was brought up in a family that believe in God and his infallible Word. What is contained in this book "Sunday Morning Stickup: What Your Pastor Doesn't Want You to Know About Tithes" is indeed the same doctrine that my mother taught me as a small child. I have faithfully believed what the scripture says about tithing and have not deviated from it. I get very annoyed when the church try to take advantage of others who don't know by using the scripture which brings insight and deliverance into a message of bondage. The church leaders have truly misused Malachi 3:8. In God and his Son Jesus, there is liberty, not bondage. With God, David Lee has published a book that is a must read for anyone who is losing interest in church because they are feeling pressured and are confused regarding tithing. Every pastor and leaders should read this, so that they would not error like the unfaithful leaders in Ezekiel chapter 34. This book is excellent to help you in your study. As it is written in Psalm 119:34: "Give me understanding, and I shall keep your law; yes, I shall observe it with my whole heart."

A Great Book Exposing Tithing's Effects From A Pastor's Perspective
After writing my own book, "The Magna Carta Of Tithing", I wanted to learn all the other information I may have missed by reading other authors on the same subject. So, I bought the "Sunday Morning Stickup" as an e-book and read it carefully. David Lee covers this subject from a pastoral perspective, working from the bottom upward, with the premise that "if the fruit is bad, then the whole tree can't be good." He covers a lot of ground in the harmful effects of the tithe doctrine, from the in-equitable distributions of wealth and burdens, to the shallow church relationships caused by the abusive preachers and their elite "cliques." Lee found the same conclusions that I did, that the tithe is an obsolete relic from the old covenant, that it never included money, and that two years out of three the tithes were part of a celebration by the 'tither' when they ate their tithes in God's presence at the Temple. Lee does not go into depth about the definitions or implications of the Old Testament directives on tithing, which my book does do. His unique perspective as a pastor really illuminates the causes and effects on the people from the tithing practices. He even noted how the same people who were faithful tithers often were not able to receive financial assistance from the church when they fell on hard times, while the clergy lived lavish lifestyles unfettered by financial concerns."Sunday Morning Stickup" is about 189 pages long, and I liked most of what he wrote. One exception though, was his teaching that "Jesus was the last tithe", which eliminated the need to continue our tithing. If Jesus was "God's Tithe", then John The Baptist should have said, "Behold, the Tithe of God that takes away the sin of the world!" What sin did any tithe ever "take away?" Also, John 3:16 should then read, "For God so loved the world that He tithed one of His sons...", meaning, that there were 9 brothers of Jesus that "dodged the draft!" Of course, Jesus IS the Only Begotten Son Of God! I believe this is a symantic error, easily fixed by using the word "offering" instead of the word "tithe." I further believe that what Lee is trying to communicate is Romans 8:32, "He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?" Meaning, if Christ himself was free for the receiving, why would God charge anything more to receive something less than Christ? It's a powerful statement that Lee did not directly make in his book. Lee also left out the 15th chapter of Acts which explicitly tells us we are free from the Law of Moses. At times, Lee's book is a little condescending or preachy with exercises for readers to perform. He is also very focused on evangelism, which is a good thing if you have a church that won't bankrupt your new converts! I give this book a 4.3 star rating out of 5 and recommend it to anyone for reading. The Magna Carta of Tithing

A Wake Up Call To Being Wise.
This book is a must read if you are investing into any church or pastor. This book is not a book that slams church's or pastors. It will give you knowledge and wisdoms on what goes on in today's church's. And it is backed up by scripture's. The book made me think of things a whole lot different. I wasn't no longer paying tithes in my church before I bought the book. But the book gave me wisdom of why it is best not to be giving anyone 10% of everything I own. I don't have 10% to give to anyone and have lack taking care of myself and family. When I got the concept that Jesus love me regardless of what I do or choice not to do I was alright. Jesus loves me the same regardless if I pay tithes or not. And it is something that he already paid for me anyway so why I'm I opening up debts that was already paid when he died on the cross. I agree with Mr. David Lee when he say a lot of the 10% we are paying is to take care of mortgages and lifestyles of people who choice to quit their jobs and depend on the work of other peoples 10% who choice to work because they have to. My advice to anyone is don't be the one who don't have enough making someone else have more then enough on your hard work. I say give what you can afford to give and don't feel guilty when you can't give what people are trying to pimp you to give. The book will explore things that you might have never thought of so keep a open mind. And if you are not sure if you want to purchase the book because you think it will be slamming the church go online and listen to Mr. David Lee teachings and see for yourself. It will be worth it.

Jesus set you free being your tithe!
If you want to know more about should you be a tither - this books covers all basis. One point to make is that it is not saying that you shouldn't tithe. If you decide you want to give 10 percent then the choice is yours because you are not obligate to. But bear in mind tithe was food, never money. No one brought money to the Priests to tithe so why now. If the church expects you to tithe then they need to obey the whole law on tithing. But they won't because they will have to give up their homes, businesses and cars. They can't have it both way. Great book a real eye opener.
