From Teilhard to Omega: Co-creating an Unfinished Universe

Evolution Continues
This book contains 13 essays, each with mind-expanding thoughts on the continuing evolution of consciousness. The writing styles of each author is my first notable reaction. A few of the authors wrote in a style that was easy to understand. A few of the authors have a style which includes words I had to look up in the dictionary. There are a couple of essays I have re-read several times without understanding the meaning. The essays help the reader understand the fascinating concept that we and our universe are unfinished. In other words, we are just one point in time of an on-going evolutionary process. We tend to think of evolution as something that happened thousands of years ago without realizing we are still in the middle of an evolutionary process that never stops. I recommend this book as a starting point for those who wish to explore Teilhard's ideas.

Put "From Teilhard to Omega" on your "Must Read" List!
I have been following Teilhard de Chardin, since reading his masterwork, The Phenomenon of Man" in 1961. (Harper & Row, New York). It was also helpful to have read "Teilhard -The Man, The Priest, The Scientist", a biography by Mary Lucas and Ellen Lucas, written in 1977. In Delio's new new book, subtitled "Co-creating an Unfinished Universe", she has invited thirteen scholars to take off where Teilhard left off, opening up new windows to the divine mystery." Their essays shed new insight on God and evolution, secularity and spirituality and the wisdom needed to forge the future. I highly recommend it to anyone who cares about the future of mankind and the earth. Although I originally read this book on my Kindle, I am ordering the hard copy to add to my "Keeper Shelf".

1-12 must be taken as a wonderful parable and not actual history
A fascinating book that helps the postmodern mind attempt to grasp how the expanding universe and the notion of evolution compliment each other. Several authors share the implications for Christians on how our thinking about the pre-history of Genesis Ch. 1-12 must be taken as a wonderful parable and not actual history. Ilia Delio has compiled some of the sharpest minds of our day to help us grapple with the meaning ofhow our expanding universe impacts our thinking on all levels. Thank you for helping us think more critically about cosmology from your perspective as well as Teilhard's perspective.

I highly recommend this
Sr. Ilia has done it again, but this time it is written in more approachable language. This collection of essays will make you reconsider some old ways of thinking and offer new and exciting ways of thinking about and relating to God . If you are feeliong confined by your current spirituality and are ready to be stretched just a little, I highly recommend this book

Teilhard and our future
I am using this book with my book group. They meet 3 times. We divide the book in thirds. We meet from 10am-3pm. each time. I find some of the authors on Utube and we listen to more than what the book gives us. This book is wonderful and very enriching. We are enjoying it . Thank you.

A buffet of Teilhard
Like any collection by different authors, this book varies in quality, interest of the essays, and most significantly, personal taste. I learned of several good names from here, Rahner, Logerhan, etc. Uneven, like any collection is.

This book is the best collection of essays in the Teilhardian mode that I have yet read. Ms Delio has chosen well - every piece is a projection of Teilhard's thought in the author's field of expertise. I bought two copies for gifts and have my popy on my "do seconds" shelf.

Excellent articles by various and different writers
Excellent articles by various and different writers. Some are a bit wordy and elect to find the most obtuse way of explaining things!
