Fits, Looks awesome, Feels Great, EZ to install!
I haven't had the chance to use this yet, the most emphasis is that this IS the right pachmayr grip for the S&W 329 PD, and it looks pretty bad-ass on the weapon!(And wish Pachmayer would take a moment and make an EZ suitability list and remove all the guess work.)Most reviews of the 329 PD attest that the stock wood grips with the weapon bring a lot of Palm Destruction with them--as all the energy goes straight to the hand. Some reviews showed rubber stock grips coming with weapon from S&W, with the back end open on the grip--similar to the wood grips, and seemingly useless. But the rubber stock grips that came with my S&W weapon was a two-piece with the back totally covered and not exposing the metal frame. I considered them, but I like the feel of the pachmayer much, much better in the hand: 1) my "pinky finger" feels in the right place and 2) the texture on the pachmayer feels solid and not slippery. So, I showed a bunch of photos and what's involved: The 329 now has the pachmayr Daimond Pro Series S&W "N" frame ROUND BUTT grips on them...and it feels great in the hand, looks pretty awesome, and is of great quality. And you can feel on the back of the grip some cushion so that all the sting from the weapon doesn't transfer to the hand directly.Anyway. the first photo with all the tools shows what will be necessary. The flathead screwdriver is to remove the screw in the stock wood grips (shown) and it may take just a little very careful and gentle prying to remove them apart--dont want to damage the wood--hence the fine and small flathead screwdriver). The little hex tool is to install the rubber stock S&W grips, as those use a hex screw and not a flathead screw (go figure)--if you decide to go that route. The hammer is to GENTLY tap out a 1/8" retaining pin in the metal frame of the butt that then seats in the stock S&W grips, but creates a problem for the pachmayer grip, as that is a one-piece slip on-so the pin has to be removed. The plyers are to pull the pin all the way through the other side of the metal frame once done GENTLY tapping with the hammer to make the pin flush with the frame--if that's all the basic tools you have. (Just be real slow and deliberate, with padding in the right places, and when I used the plyers, I also used some thick paper towels around the pin when I pulled it through, so not to mar it up). The brown bowl has some dishwashing liquid to make threading the screw (that came with the pachmayer grips) through the hole in the rubber grips easier.Lyman has a neat little video on Youtube on how this is done:(If on Youtube, search for Lyman products, then once there, search for Grips and see how "Joe" from Pachmayr installs the grip.)[...] You can see from the pictures, the pachmayer screw sits about an 3/8" below the surface of the grip, and leaves a slight "hole."I"m confident these grips will reduce the "sting" from the weapon based on other write-ups, but as its not a simple flat-head screw to come on and off, I just installed the grip and cant provide before/after experiences. If there is a problem with these grips, I'll update, otherwise, consider them to work just great (and they look AWESOME!).Happy shooting and hope this helps--and this IS the right pachmayer grip for the the 329 PD

Pachmayr diamond pro's score once again
A while ago I bought my first set of Pachmayr Diamond Pro grips and installed them on my Ruger SP101. They worked so well for that gun that I bought another pair for my S&W M69 (in .44 magnum). After firing several hundred rounds through both of those guns I was hooked on the diamond pro series. I recently purchased another set, this time for my N Frame S&W M&P R8 (in .357 magnum). I was a bit concerned at first because the grips for the SP101 were fairly compact, yet filled my hand perfectly. The L Frame grips for the M69 were larger, but not bulky. Moving up to the N Frame I was worried that they might be too large (I was somewhat biased due to someone on a forum whining about the N Frame Diamond Pro grips being "way" too big for his hands). After a quick install, which is not as difficult as some have noted (YouTube has several videos on the process), I took the R8 out for a test fire. The Diamond Pro grips are simply brilliant. They fit well (not too bulky), have a perfect grip, and absorb much more recoil (shooting 158 grain factory loads) than the Hogue grips that the gun came with. The guy who complained about these grips must have tiny little doll hands. I'm 5'10" and have medium size hands, and they fit me perfectly. I cannot say enough good things about the Diamond Pro series grips. My only gripe is that now I want to replace the grips on all of my revolvers with Diamond Pro's. You will not be disappointed.

Does not fit properly
I read the reviews that were pretty mixed. I went against my gut feeling and thought that the design may have been updated and it will fit. I was wrong at giving it the benefit of the doubt because the grip hole did not line up with the N frame 327 hole. The only way I can get them to line up is if I pull the grip down to where the frame is revealed where it should not be. Then you can put the screw through the hole and tighten. I was very disappointed with this and hope it is just an issue with this one example. I highly doubt that now as the other reviews mentioned fit issues.

It's a winner
I have bought multiple brands and I prefer this one over others as far a rubber grips go. Fits tight and comfortable to hold even with full magnum loads. More comfortable

Difficult to install
These grips, in and of themselves are of good quality and fit my hand nicely. I had a very difficult time installing and lining it up on the frame. For me I’d pass but you may have better luck.

Good grips, just a little short
These grips had to be sent back. However it's only because they were a little to short, I have a somewhat large hand and I had nowhere to wrap my pinky finger around, which made handling my .44 unstable. They were comfortable, they filled my hand, but just short.

Great!
The grip fit my model 629 3in. barrel perfectly. Very comfortable grip.

Comfort plus grips
You have to tap out the grip alignment roll pin for this grip installation. Once you get past that the installation is straightforward. I use it on my 629 3 inch and recoil is much more comfortable with these grips even with full magnum loads. The grips are sticky and soft and may stick a little to clothing on a draw. I do love these grips for the low price I paid and for the comfort.
