Mattel Games Blokus 3D Board Game

We love regular Blokus and decided to try this one since Amazon had it really cheap. The game looked complicated at first, but after reading the instructions it was easy enough to learn the rules and figure out the best strategies. We're still devoloping our skills and find ourselves wanting to keep playing game after game to test out our newest strategies.Even though the age recommendation is higher than for Regular Blokus, our young kids (ages 9, 7 and 5) are fully able to play and enjoy the game with us (the 5-year-old is a pretty advanced gamer for his age though, so this may not be the case for all kids his age). I love how this game challenges your spatial thinking. It's a very educational for kids, at least.The only complaint I have is that the blocks aren't designed to "click" together very well, so the structure may collapse if you're not careful. It's frustrating to have taken turns carefully placing your pieces on the board only to have everything fall apart. It's usually impossible to rebuild it exactly the same way. This has happened to us a few of times, we're learning to be more careful but I wish we didn't have to worry about it. The board comes with a turntable so that you can just turn the game around to look at the structure from different angles without having to get up to do so. However, the turntable doesn't turn very smoothly, you kind of have to yank it (it has been the cause of at least one collapse), so we end up just turning the entire gameboard around. No big deal, but since it does have the turntable I wish they'd done a better job with it.Overall, I think all Blokus lovers will definitely enjoy this game! It's fun, different, challenging, interesting... and addicting! All you'd expect from Blokus. Have fun!

If you have played regular Blokus you will enjoy this game. I would recommend you try the regular game first, and when you are an expert - have a go at this 3-D twist on the game. I gave it to my nephew for Christmas and he loved playing it. There is an added mental challenge in thinking through your moves in multi-dimensions. I would recommend this is an educational toy but even the young at heart will enjoy this game!

I am a teacher, and bought this game for the students in the gifted/talented program. Of course, we just had to "try it out" first. We had a blast playing this at home. It is a good thing we bought two of them, because we definetly want one at home.There are 4 different ways to play this game and they vary in difficulty, making it a wonderful game for all levels of players.I highly recommend this game.

Packaging is super cheap and looks too cheap to display. I want to find a wooden box or something in order to keep next to my other games.

This game by no means compares to regular Blokus. That game is addicting, and boy can it get aggressive in our home. Thought we'd try this version since we have so much fun with the original. This game has well-constructed plastic pieces, but when you stack them they keep slipping. That's a real drag to the game when you're always having to readjust pieces after each move. This will probably collect more dust than playing time in our home.

The game is really fun and easy to pickup. Even though it was brought second hand, from victors discounts, it was in excellent condition. Made for excellent gift.

Never the same game twice and four completely different gamevariations included in the box. Difficulty level is completelydetermined by the skill of the players. Definitely a gamedesigned for 8 years to adult.Learning curve 5 minutes.

This is my favorite blokus game. The 3D version plays quickly and is lots of fun for 2 people. I put a little silicon lubricant on the turn table and that makes it turn very smoothly. The game is well constructed and comes in a nice sturdy box to keep track of all parts.
