Great, as long as you mix it right!
I finally decided to try resin casting, so I'd have some smooth objects to try airbrushing once spring finally arrives here. I am a total newbie to resin casting and have only used this resin a couple of times. One of the times I've used this resin, my castings turned out great! The second attempt didn't go as well... The first time I used this resin, I was very careful to evenly mix the two parts and took my sweet time slowly stirring the mixture before pouring. The two large castings I poured turned out wonderfully! Only one casting has a single tiny bubble in it, and neither have any surface blemishes. I'm very much looking forward to painting them later! I did notice, however, that the bottom of both castings had very slight soft spots near the center. Elated by my success, I bought more pouring molds and a couple weeks later, poured into them. This time though, I rushed it. Remembering the soft spots, I added more hardener. I also didn't spend as much time mixing the two parts. I poured six castings. Three turned out decent, one turned out great, and two were so bad that the molds were ruined. I poured two small turtles. Both hardened, but one of the two are cloudy in appearance. I poured a lizard casting. It hardened, again with a small soft spot in the bottom-center that eventually hardened. The legs and feet broke as I tried to free the casting from the mold. I poured a large crab. The mixture didn't harden, even after literal weeks of watching and waiting. I couldn't clean the translucent sludge that remained in the mold. I poured a piggy bank shaped mold. The casting PARTIALLY hardened. The bottom half of the casting solidified, but the rest remained a sludge. Again, I couldn't clean the mold. So, once I get around to cleaning the two pouring cups I got with this resin, I'm going to try a third round of casting. But I will definitely be more careful in mixing, both in quantity and mixing speed/time! All this being said, this kit has been great. It came with everything I needed to start casting immediately, but not with so much extra gear as to overwhelm me. I'd gladly recommend this kit to anyone that wants to try resin casting!

This resin is high quality—you just need to choose the right product for your project.
I want to share my experience with the epoxy resin I've been using for several years now, and yes, all works in the photo are made using this resin. I often see negative reviews about this resin's quality, but I want to say that it's really great and worth every penny. It's important to understand that different types of epoxy resin have different characteristics: curing speed, smell, toxicity level, and flexibility. These qualities are interconnected and can significantly affect the outcome depending on what you're using the resin for. For instance, this particular resin is perfect for mold casting. It has the right flow and curing time, which helps achieve excellent results. However, it's not meant for creating waves or coating tumblers because it's too runny for those purposes. And that's okay! I get that it can be inconvenient when you buy resin for a small project and expect it to work for everything. But if the resin doesn't work out, it's not the product's fault; it's more about choosing the wrong type of resin for your specific use. This resin is high quality—you just need to consider its properties and choose the right product for the job. Please keep this in mind when selecting resin, and your projects will turn out great!

Update
Updated review: So in my initial review I stated that the very first batch I got was difficult to mix and was hard to work with in general, when it did harden it almost had a melted plastic feel to it. Before all that I realized I needed more and since this was the only company that was sending out two day shipping I went ahead and purchased the second batch, when the second batch came I debated whether or not to use bc of the first batch but decided to anyway. The second batch was much easier to use, stirred like melted butter, and even with me being lazy it hardened clear with very little bubbles (again bc I was lazy) The company contacted me about the first batch (make it right team) and offered to refund or replace, I chose replace bc I wanted to see how well it did and make my review honest. The third batch was the same as the second, easy to stir, beautiful results. It’s a good resin, I personally feel like it’ll make a good resin for small projects, like spheres and cones, or jewelry, rather than larger projects. But that is my personal opinion. The team that contacted me were really polite and sent me the replacement quickly and I appreciated them reaching out to me.

Sept 2021 UPDATE. Not for sealing art.
The customer service is unmatched. I have only had 1 other customer service experience that even comes close. They sent me an apology card in the mail, stayed in contact with me until they made sure that I am a happy customer. Just WOW. I am DEFINITELY going through their company again. They know how to treat customers well. Totally changed my mind! Probably good for actual resin molds..BUT My first experience with this brand, and will not buy again. I've been sealing my art with resin for awhile and this brand has veen the worse of 3 that I've used. My canvases are prepped correctly, NO silicone used in my art, 2 isolation coats are applied, the canvases all have hard backs to prevent sagging and yet, with this resin I still have fish eyes,.pits, and no coverage on the edges. I will say on the positive side that this resin is VERY clear and the bubbles are minimal. The other 2 I've used have been bubbleiscious lol. I'll finish using what I have to re resin the 2 pieces that are messed up. BUT I will never buy it again.

This is the best for me
I'm just starting working with resin. I've tried a few but is by far the best. Very few bubbles, nice drying time and it's easier for me to work with than those resins that have 100 bubbles with each stir. This dries clear and looks great. Since I've started I had a lot of mess ups and am just now getting the hang of it thanks to watching some You Tube videos. Finally, have some items I can give to friends. I'm stickting with Dr. Crafty. Great product.

Quality product worth the money
I found it excellent so far. I have done pours that are approximately an inch or so deep. They get hard in less than 24hr so that I can demold. Easy to use. My pours are colored silver/gray with mica powder. Have not tried clear pours, but looks clear before I add Mica Powder. Have not noticed any smell. Have not had problems with bubles so far. (I mix with tongue depressor) Have not tested finl product in water. I will buy again.

Works great...once you follow these tips
Works great...once you know how to use it properly. I used this for adding a clear coat of epoxy for tumblers. I was a total beginner when I started and learned a few things along the way that might help people like me: 1) put both bottles in the sink and fill it with warm water. Let sit for about 10 minutes. I learned the hard way that if the resin is too cold it won’t mix with the hardener properly and the result is a sticky mess. After numerous you tube videos, I found this tip and it worked great! Warming it up also helps get rid of most of the bubbles. 2) The 1:1 ratio is critical. I accidentally added a bit more hardener once(because it pours faster) and didn’t think it would make much of a difference. It does. The result never lost the tacky feel. 3) Mix for at least a minute or two. It feels like forever as your mixing, but I found the longer I mixed, the more consistent my results turned out as I mixed resin for fifteen cups in the span of two weeks. I ruined a couple cups by not mixing it enough. The results were sticky no matter how long it dried. 4) If you’re making tumblers, a “cuptisserie” motorized cup Turner is a MUST. The resin is very fluid and does not like to stay in place. Applying the resin as it’s turning was the only way possible.

UPDATE: It Started Out Good - Then Bombed Bec Of The ⌚️
WOW where can I start? I guess the beginning. Before we begin you can go pop a bag of popcorn this may take a minute. Read a review on this product and got excited. As a matter of fact I could not sleep all night waiting for my resin. When I saw that brown truck pull up you would have thought Santa arrived early and he did. WOW!! {{{You can grab one more handful of popcorn if you like.}}} The package arrived and the UPS guy said, “hey that’s not your place” and I replied, “ I know let me show you something to explain why I am so happy.” I took him to The Lab. The Lab is my studio that I use to release all my creative energy. He was impressed. {{{FAST FORWARD}}} Now to the resin. OH MY GAWD (I wish I could pop in a GIF here) this product is the best I have worked with. The ease and it really does level. My goodness I think I am in love. At the timestamp of this message it is 10:44 pm EST and I want to go in The Lab and make something so bad, but I’m not. Ok to make a long review even shorter. JUST BUY THE DANG PRODUCT BOTTLES - You can thank me later. Awesome sauce. The BEST resin ever. Next purchase on the 15th one gallon. I AM NOT USING ANYTHING ELSE. Thank you for making this brand and thank YOU (yes you) for reading to this point. HAPPY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MAY YOU ALL REMAIN SAFE AND JOYOUS! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Although, I was happy with the flow of the product the curing time is exceptionally long 3 days. I am used to working with resin/epoxy that cures in under 24 hours. With the type of business we run, to have a client wait longer than they are used to can be bad for business. I have not made the decision yet and we are not sure if we would order again. The flow is pretty good though.
