Absolutely Fantastic Value. Great Quality at an Unbeatable Price.
I can't speak highly enough of this product. After extensively reading reviews and shopping for a shotgun scabbard, I decided not to spend a ton of money and just get this value-priced Chinese one for starters and I could always upgrade later. After receiving the product, I don't think I'll ever need to upgrade!. The only question I have about it now is which color to buy next! Some reviews mentioned thin single stitching on the MOLLE straps that didn't hold up. This must have been a design flaw in earlier versions because mine came with well-stitched MOLLE straps and firm stitching on all seams. The nylon material is durable and of good quality. Nothing about it seems cheap or flimsy. Even the metal components seem to be steel as they are magnetic (you can see the metallic grey, oval magnet I stuck to one of the metal attachment clasps in two of my pictures). The carry strap is fully adjustable for length and has a sliding shoulder pad. The barrel end of the scabbard has an adjustable plastic clip so that it can be folded up and attached to shorten the overall length of the scabbard, or let out or unclipped to lengthen the scabbard by several inches to accommodate anything from as short as an 18" barrel to (probably) a 24" or 28". (In my photos you can see the sleeve mostly extended with the shotgun stock also extended and the shotgun pushed most of the way into the scabbard with the pistol grip all the way forward in the zipper slit, and in another photo you can see the sleeve tightened up to shorten the length of the scabbard and the folding stock folded to make the package as compact as possible) In my setup, I have a 12ga Mossberg 500 with an 18.5" barrel, plastic heat shield, Maverick 88 forend, and ATI top folding stock. The reason I wanted a scabbard and not a mere shotgun sling was so that I could attach the whole package to the side of a bag using carabiners or MOLLE. This scabbard absolutely does the trick! It's amazing how easy it is to carry the scabbard on my back with the folding stock collapsed to form a compact package. I highly recommend using this scabbard with a folding stock of some sort to attach your shotgun to your pack or other gear, or to just carry it on your back if that suites you. Soon I will be attaching a shell carrier to the MOLLE, but for now I have just stuck a few extra rounds in the MOLLE loops (this is not their intended purpose, but they are strongly enough stitched that a few of the looser loops can accommodate a handful of extra shells. The scabbard even comes with 4 button snap MOLLE strips. I use 3 of them to fashion a strap that holds down the folding stock so that it doesn't bounce around and stays close to the scabbard so it doesn't get caught on anything, yet the shotgun can still be pulled free from the scabbard without having to undo any of the straps. You can thank me later. The only possible issues to be aware of are that the scabbard is fairly tight (there is a little wiggle room but not much), so double barreled shotguns, shotguns with thick forends or bulky accessories (flashlights, lasers, bayonet lugs, vertical foregrips, etc.), shotguns with bulky muzzle devices, shotguns with bulky heat shields or sidesaddle shell holders, and shotguns with tall optics that do not easily detach may have trouble fitting into the scabbard. Overall, if you have a relatively clean, common profile shotgun with either a standard or folding stock, this scabbard should go a very long way in providing a comfortable, tactical, and versatile way to store, transport, and protect your gun. I highly recommend it!

Nice Quality Scab
I bought this scab for my 12 Ga. 18" barrel Shotgun. I wanted something to sit my weapon in but still have easy access to in case I need it. I looked at a few other options for shotgun carry cases and range bags for shotguns, but everything was either too big & bulky or lacked in quality. This bag is just what I was looking for and as soon as I touched it, in the packaging, I knew the quality was there, just by the way it felt. Nice thick material, similar to a duffel bag for you military guys. The scab fits snugly around the gun, which is exactly what I wanted. I do have a ammo sleeve on the stock which holds 5 shells, and it slides in just fine. The interior has a smooth fabric finish which allows the weapon to slide in and out quick and easy. I use the scab fully extended. My gun is approximately 39 inches long from tip of barrel to back of stock and it sits all the way down in there with half the stock showing , the trigger is fully covered. Lots of Mollie storage possibilities on the exterior. The bag it's equipped with tactical straps for multiple uses. Comes with a padded shoulder strap for easy carry. The gun stores downward for safety and quick retrieval. The only thing I can say needs improvement is that there are two grommets at the bottom of the bag. When fully extended as I use it, the grommets rub against the gun barrel. I believe the grommet is there to release air in the bag when loading it. Not sure. If they were closer to the edges and not centered, then no issue. I simply stuck a bandanna in the bottom of the bag to keep the barrel from rubbing , easy fix. Overall great scab , I'm greatly pleased.

Tight fit
If you are putting a plain Jane shotgun in this scabbard you will be pleased. It provides a nice padded, convenient way to carry your shotgun. It has a sling and generous molle attachments on both sides. It can secure your shotgun nice and snug with two straps. Has a zippered opening to assist stowing and removal. The length is adjustable for 18 to 22 inch barrels, may be even more as one securing strap, that has a quick side release buckle, can be adjusted out a few more inches. The color is between a Ranger Green and Olive Drab. Has two large D-rings and two smaller D-rings for even more tie down attachment points. The stitching all around looks very good with no frays or loose strands. If you are thinking about getting this for your Tactical shotgun, think again. With just a flashlight (mounted under magazine tube) this was incredibly tight. So much so I only shoved it in less than 6 inches before thinking better about it. If you have a small slim flashlight you MAY be ok. I removed the padding, my shotgun has so many scratches and such from normal wear and tear over the years that the need for padding is moot at this point. The extra room was enough to put my flashlight and sidesaddle shell holder attached with no problems. The padding is a closed cell foam 1/4 inch thick so removing it gave me at least a 1/2 inch more room. I know some of you are saying what a nut case, he removed the padding blah blah. It's not the first time I have had to customize something, some of you out there out there know what I'm talking about. Putting "Tactical" in the name is misleading (that's where the fifth star went). As I said just the flashlight was very tight and if any of you have other Tactical attachments on your shot gun, forget it. Oh my weapon of choice is a Remington 870 20 gauge 18 inch barrel with a 2 shell magazine extension, Mesa Tactical pistol grip adapter with a Magpul grip with storage compartment, a generic M-4 collapsible stock with a Limbsaver recoil pad, Mesa Tactical 6 shell side saddle holder, UTG quick release light mounted on a UTG three way Picatinny 3 spot mount in lieu of a barrel/magazine clamp. It doubles for my at home and out in the wild defense. So at least now I can bring along my shotgun and not have to carry it or try to sling it with a back pack and minor climbing and jumping thru the wild. I can mount it to my rucksack and still have it at the ready. I am a happy camper.

Great Scabbard
I was looking for a scabbard to use with my hunting shotgun. I hunt public land that doesn't allow vehicles. So, I needed a way to carry the shotgun on my bicycle to get deep into the hunting area. My old Mossberg 500 is 27.5" from the tip of the barrel to the receiver. With the scabbard fully extended, my shotgun sits with just the stock extending from the scabbard. The receiver is fully covered. I ordered black as I read a review that talked about having to burn off stray/frayed threads, leaving black burned nubs visible all over the scabbard. I had no loose/frayed threads at all, not one. I have not been able to use it in the field yet, but it looks/feels very sturdy and well made. I would highly recommend this scabbard. A few other notes. With the scabbard fully extended, the male portion of the quick release buckle just hangs as it is too short to make it back to the female end. I just took off the pistol grip strap (both ends just unsnap) and attached the female portion to one of the lower MOLLE loops and that got it out of the way and secure. The zipper for accommodating pistol grips on shorter barreled shotguns is 4" and has a snap closure strap at the top of the scabbard. It looks to me like you could use it to lock the pistol grip in place, similar to the way the removable pistol grip strap works on guns that don't need the zipper.. Anyway I can't say enough about how pleased I am with this product at this price. ***********************************Update 11-5-13************************************ While experimenting with different carry options (getting the weight as low as possible for cycling over rough terrain) I inserted the butt of the shotgun in to see if it would fit in that orientation. It did not...too tight. While pulling the shotgun back out, I popped the seam. The stitching let loose with surprisingly little pressure. My fault no doubt, but it is rather light single stitching. I'll just sew it back with heavy thread. I'm still happy with the scabbard.

Wow! Very surprised at this Excellent Purchase.
I was very surprised at the quality, features, and function of this item! Wasn't expecting what I got at such a reasonable price. It seems to have a very strong heavy-duty build quality. It offers multiple carrying options/styles. It has a considerable amount of Molle attachment in the perfect places. It is gun-length adjustable. It has a heavy-duty zipper release to widen the mouth of the scabbard for a pistol grip or just if extra space is needed. Mine even came with some (4) extra Molle attachment straps on it. I have a shorter home defense Mossberg 500 pump 12ga with a pistol grip and with some simple adjustments it fits like a glove! I tried my longer-barrel Mossberg pump 20ga (standard stock) in it and it was like this scabbard was made for this gun also! This is a small slender scabbard, so don't expect to get a gun with side-mount accessories and scopes into this one. I LOVE it for my shotguns as it is small and sturdy and wears very close and tight to my back while carrying. I think it would be excellent to attach to a pack (going to try that on my B.O.B soon). I am going to use it for both hunting and for my bug-out/survival gear. Excellent purchase. I am extremely pleased with this one.

Very impressed,
I bought this scabbard to use with my 6-shot Mossberg 500. So far it is working great, it was well built, comfortable to wear and looks cool. It has enough M.O.L.L.E webbing that you can attach a few shotgun shell carriers (have have two 25-round pouches on mine) or whatever else tactical gear you would need to keep with your shotgun. The scabbard does extend so it can accommodate a longer barrel but I think it works best with an 18" barrel. I don't think you could fit a shotgun with a lot attachments into this scabbard though, maybe a side saddle for extra shells but it would be hard to draw the shotgun from the scabbard. If you're thinking about getting this I would say go ahead and hit the order button, you won't be disappointed! One thing I would recommend as a note for future production for NcStar and as a cautionary note for any prospective buyers. The barrel of the shotgun will wear a hole into the nylon because of the weight of the gun being pushed against the bottom of the scabbard, I solved this problem by rolling up a small towel and a bandana and stuffing them in the scabbard, it disperses the weight and also makes the shotgun sit a little higher in the scabbard so it is easier to grab.

Better than Expected
Bought this in ACU camo. Quality components. Definitely will last. Mobbing webbing on both sides so you can attach it to a pack or attach pouches to it. I fit a Remington 870 express 7 shot/w bead sight and 20 inch barrel in it perfectly. Removable sling makes it easy to carry comfortably on the shoulder. I would not say this is specifically suited for quick retrieval. This is a good quality cheap scabbard to move your gun, but it is not a "let me pull my shotgun out from behind my back scabbard." Internally it has (probably plastic) framing that provides protection for the gun as well as some structure to keep it rigid. The adjustable length clip allows it to accommodate shorter shotguns. Comes with 4 button snap nylon straps to attach to other gear. Fyi those $17-20 on amazon 25 round shotgun pouches fit perfectly on the webbing on the scabbard. The scabbard has enough webbing to fir 4 (2 on each side), obviously putting two on each side would make it more difficult to throw over your shoulder and I cant say that the D rings on the sling could take the weight of the gun as well as possibly 100 rounds of shotgun ammo, but never the less. How awesome is it that you could possibly have 100 rounds with you on your scabbard and easily 50. Bottom line. I recommend this product, beware of the size though. Mine fits perfectly, check your specs to see if yours would fit before you buy, obviously.

Good, but could be longer.
EDIT - following the incredibly 'clever' commenter who suggests I'm perhaps dumb for not realising this is a TAC scabbard, I thought I best mention that I DID realise this 'duh'..... because it's in the title spookily enough, but bought it because it was the longest I could find and wanted it to fit a NON TAC shotgun if possible (as I don't own a TAC one and I've never seen one available to the general public in the UK, probably because you can't have less than a 24" barrel length) So I wanted to see how it worked out and thought I would share my findings below along with a general construction review. Hope that clears that up for those rushing to point out 'my stupidity'. EDIT OVER Bought this for my shotgun on U.S Amazon as not available on UK one. Like it so far although not been out in the field with it , so all I will comment on is how I find it from testing indoors. Seems a sturdy enough construction, but I can see why a one star reviewer complained about it tearing internally. The rigid plastic sheath sandwiched between the material really needs to be on the inside, to prevent the barrel and sight from snagging and catching the fabric when sliding the gun in and out. I have prevented this for the time being by popping one of those small rubber cups that fit onto stool/table leg ends (you can buy to prevent them scratching wooden floors) on the end of the barrel - but not ideal and may sleeve this myself with something rigid). Also it isn't really long enough even when fully extended to fit my Browning Maxus 29" barrel semi-auto shotgun and could just do with being an inch longer (to give you an idea of length, you can still see the entire trigger guard). I know it gave the size in the blurb and I'm not complaining because I knew it would be short when I bought it (it was the longest scabbard I could find), but just a design element that could be looked at and thought I should mention it for others considering this for a long gun, because it feels just ever so slightly 'top heavy' when the scabbard is slung over your shoulder. The other slight gripe is when fully extended, the clips that holds the flap of additional scabbard material folded over (when using it at it's shortest), will no longer meet each other, meaning you have the thing just dangling loose which is a bit pants (but will sort something myself). This would be perfect with my over and under Browning 525, but this is not the gun I bought it for as the 525 is for partridge and pheasant posh shoot days whereas the Maxus is for the down and dirty pigeon and rabbit rough and tumble days, where the scabbard would be ideal. Everything else looks the part, I like the overall construction as it feels sturdy and robust and I'm sure it will work out for me, but thought I should share it's few faults for me with potential buyers. Follow Up - Having used it out and about now, I can confirm that whilst the scabbard is robust and good to use in the field, you may want to replace both the clips that hold the shoulder strap on with some carabiners, as the factory clasps fitted are poor (it un-clipped itself many times and only quick reaction time by myself prevented gun and all falling to the floor). Also whilst it felt slightly top heavy when on your shoulder with the Maxus (as mentioned above) it is seriously top heavy when the barrel is fitted with an extended choke which adds an extra couple of inches to the barrel length (a way around this is to clip the stock support strap through the trigger guard, pull it tight and carry the whole thing upside down - or take the choke off when you are carrying the gun, but this is not always possible) but if you have it attached to a pack then it may not be an issue at all. All this aside I am happy with the product and would buy another.

Perfect for small shotgun
I love this little bag/scabbard. Really good value for money. Very sturdy and fits my short pump and short semi shotguns perfectly. Scabbard retains it's form (sturdy) and is easy to get the shotgun in and out without scuffing, rubbing or wrestling it. Very happy with the scabbard.

Nice, but not for Rem TAC 14 with side saddle
It’s a sturdy scabbard and great for a long rifle or long barreled shotgun but without a side saddle. If you’ve got Remington TAC 14, this scabbard is way too long, even with the bottom folded. If you’ve got a TAC 14 with a side saddle, forget this one.

Great quality scabbard
Good quality scabbard. My Churchill pump action shotgun fits perfectly. My 1869 Marlin does not quite go in all the way due to the loop on the lever, wish the zipper opened a FTE inches more and then the Marlin would slide all the way in as well. Very happy with the purchase. Mounted the scabbard to my e-bike and it is secure and fits well. I did have to make a couple of brackets for the molle to slide over.

Great For 94's
I got this to attach to the back of my molle pack, for hunting this fall. Fits my 94 Timber Carbine perfectly and together with the backpack, is a 1/4 of the price cabelas wants for a pack with a scabbard. Durability seems quite good, the cordura fabric doesn't feel cheap, as is so often the case with airsoft grade gear. My only gripe would be took a bit of fiddling, and my wife's patience to attach this in a easy to use, and comfortable position on the pack. Not the fault of the scabbard, but something to bear in mind should you wish to do the same.
