Avec cette station DVR on peut transformer son Archos 5 IT (ou 48IT) en centrale multimédia complète de petite taille.En association avec mon Archos 5IT 32Go, une télévision (en HDMI de préférence) et un Logitech Z-906 (kit de son 5.1) il remplace aisément un ordinateur servant de HTPC puisqu'il peut lire des films en 720p sur un serveur de partage de fichier (ou de Youtube grace a l'application Tubemate, dispo sur le SlideME Market) en Wifi (il faut un signal de bonne qualité pour éviter les coupures tout de même) ou sur une cle USB/disque dur externe (Attention : NTFS non supporte par l'Archos 5IT) vu que la station possède un port USB "maitre" alimenté plus que correctement par le transformateur de 5V 3A (ca permet de recharger un téléphone portable en USB en meme temps que l'Archos au passage !).Niveau sonore la présence d'une sortie SPDIF (sortie numérique sur cable coaxial) est un point positif magistral si on a un kit de son qui possède une entrée compatible, aucune perte de qualité du son, aucun grésillement comme on peut entendre parfois en provenance de la sortie RCA ou Jack lorsque l'Archos est en train de se recharger sur la station.Je n'utilise que très peu la fonction d'enregistreur numérique et uniquement pour enregistrer des vidéos de vieilles consoles via l’entrée Peritel.Mon seul regret c'est de ne pas avoir trouve de moyen d'utiliser l'Archos comme un écran au lieu d'un enregistreur, ca doit etre possible d'afficher le flux vidéo en entrée et ca parachèverait un produit déjà très utile.Bonus : L'application Big Digital Clock permet d'avoir une horloge bien lisible, compatible avec Android 1.6 et qui ne pèse que 80Ko ![...]

I bought this to record from my Sky Plus box. It arrived very quickly, as usual with Amazon's traders. I unpacked it and studied the manual. I connected it, but I struggled to get it to work. After a lot of messing about, I managed to get the output from the Archos 5 on my TV screen, but I couldn't get the Sky Plus box working. Even though the Archos is Wi-Fi capable, you have to download the HD Video plug-in to your PC, connect the Archos to your PC and install the file from there! Admittedly, it's far easier to type details on your PC keyboard than on the miniscule keys on the DVR Station's remote, but why can't you do it directly on the Archos via Wi-Fi? After a day or two trying, I managed to get things working after a fashion, but when I unplugged the Archos to use it elsewhere I couldn't get any signal from my Sky Plus box to the TV. I emailed Archos, but I haven't received a reply five days later! I emailed the supplier to enquire about returns, outlining the problem, and they gave me a direct number for Archos Support. I phoned them and they said that was the way it was supposed to work. Now, I might be being picky, but I don't want to have to man-handle my TV to change SCART cables over every time I plug or unplug my Archos! I expected to be able to connect the DVR Station once and then leave it, plugging and unplugging my Archos at will. Nowhere in the product description or any other review does it say that this is not so. Am I being unreasonable? I don't think so! To me, technology is about making things simpler, but having to change leads over every time I want to do something different is just making things more complicated. I would not recommend this product to anybody and Archos's Customer Support is sadly lacking. I am now awaiting a reply from the supplier to return this product for a refund.

I bought this because it gave me the chance to record my favourite TV programs off the tv. Very much worth the money. Only problem I have with this is the fact that an important component was missing. The adapter that the Archos 5 tablet sits in when it's attached to the DVR station, which makes it more stable. It still works without it, so I'm not completely screwed, but it would have been nice if it had been included (which, according to the instructions in the box, it should have been.

Die Tastatur hilft enorm, wenn man große MP3-Sammlugen hat um z.B. mit einem Tastendruck zu "T" zu gelangen. Achtung bei dem HD Plug-In, das muss man erst mit einem PC (!) runterladen und von da auf dem ARCHOS kopieren. Ich hatte es mehrmals direkt mit dem ARCHOS probiert, was aber nicht tut. Es steht zwar eigentlich in der Anleitung drin, aber nicht so in Klartext, dass ich es auf Anhieb verstanden hätte. Das Gerät beim Aussschalten immer in den Ruhemodus versetzen und nicht ganz ausschalten, dann ist es in Sekunden wieder betriebsbereit. Den Ruhemodus packt der Akku gefühlt mehrere Monate. Das "Mauszeiger-Pad" ist toll. Man kann damit auch echt im Internet surfen. Der Archos ist für mich mit der FB zu einer echter HiFi-Komponente geworden. Er vereint nun Streaming vom NAS und Internet Radio und das zu einem Bruchteil der Kosten für "High End" Geräte. Bin voll zufrieden, Preis um die 50 Euro finde ich sehr fair für's Gebotene!
