Great product but my dog had other ideas
Great concept! Unfortunately could not stop my dog from lounging and eating grass/soil. Still giving 4 stars since the product was exactly as described and this was an individual problem with my dog.

It's good grass, I just wish my dog would use it.
It looks like grass, it feels like grass, it smells like grass, I water it and it grows like grass, but I can't get my dog to pee on it. Either because she absolutely doesn't want to pee in the house or because it doesn't have a soil smell. Either way, it's not a bad purchase since it's clearly thriving in the corner of our bedroom despite the insistence that you're supposed to change it every 4 weeks. I cut our 2x2 order into 2x1 sections and put it onto a shoe tray and water it and it's growing. My plan If my dog ever does pee on it, I'm gonna try to put it in the shower and run the shower head over it to flush the pee out to see if that will help sustain it longer; then I'll never have to buy another one again...though I will have to mow it.Edit: After 2 months it started to grow white mold. So definitely not something that will last forever even if you take care of it.

Blessing!
The media could not be loaded. I live in south Seattle and it's freezing and soggy outside this time of year. I was so sick of muddy paws and freezing my buns morning and night. I was nervous with some of the reviews but my first order was perfect! This is the best thing ever!! Took her a few days to use it, she likes to explore outside dog smells. But with no choice she went on it and it's been so convenient. I put it on my patio (live in apartment) and she'll ask to go out and relieve herself. No mess! I use the cardboard tray it comes in and used the lid underneath for extra support. Grass was so green and very healthy! I wipe any poop and with the climate being damp i havnt had to water it, no brown spots yet and it's been a week. This will be my go-to for winter! If my next order quality is different, I will update my review. Not sure i will splurge on the plastic tray yet because it's holding up so far as is.

Quality is not consistent but customer service is great
I only docked a star because the quality is very inconsistent. One order will be great and last a while. The other will show up yellow or decaying and wet. Customer service is always willing to help though so that’s at least something.

Lifesaver, SUPER convenient, but expensive and short lifespan.
This is a great idea. Living on an upper floor of an apartment building, and snow/temps in the 10's was causing a problem for my two small dogs. After reading the reviews, I bought a 24" square. It took quite a while to get delivered (8 days), but, it arrived in perfect shape. I was pleased to open the box and see a lush green chunk of sod. Note that these do not have soil on the bottom, but are grown hydroponically. This cuts down on the weight and the smell. Additionally, they ship it in an excellent wax-coated box that keeps liquids from soaking through. Why 3 stars? Well, it barely made it a week before it started browning. I've had it for 9 days now, and it's on its last leg. My dogs are 10 and 20 pounds, and they used it quite a bit, I will admit. I tried adding a little water, and always brought it in when the temps went below freezing at night. It started to get a bit of an odor - not urine/ammonia, but VERY earthy and damp smelling. Too much for inside use. Their website hints at 2, 4, even 6 weeks of use. I get how a perfect climate and a 3 pound dog using it once a day might make it 6 weeks, but I will most likely be pitching this at 2 weeks. They offer a magic spray on their website ($18!) that supposedly keeps it healthy and assists with breaking down the waste. Seems a little gimmicky to me, but I haven't tried it.All that said, yes, I will probably order another one. It's not cheap, but WOW is it nice to have this available at 2AM when it's 4 degrees out. I'm a little conflicted with using it, as it feels like the dogs are learning bad habits. Also, it's small enough that if you have a dog that needs to circle around 40X before they go, they often miss the grass. So, good product, albeit expensive, but for now it beats 20 elevator trips a day in freezing temps.

Essential for apartment living
Fresh Patch is a life saver when you have a new puppy and/or live in an apartment (especially when not on the ground floor). We've been using Fresh Patch since our puppy came home at 8 weeks old, and it has made everything so much easier. No middle of the night trips down multiple flights of stairs or time consuming elevator rides. No need to go out in the rain. We place the Fresh Patch on our covered patio, have a bell hanging from the patio door, and in no time our puppy was house trained. Easy pee-zee!We also used a small size Fresh Patch during the trip home from picking her up when we adopted her (many states away). It stayed in the box while on the road, and we offered it to her at rest stops and brought it into the hotel room with us at night. Since she wasn't fully vaccinated yet when we picked her up, the Fresh Patch allowed her to remain isolated from other dogs at rest areas, keeping her safe and providing us with peace of mind.Great product!!

It's for CATS, TOO, YA KNOW!
My cats love their Fresh Patch. My indoor cats go outside on a leash in the summertime, but now that it's raining and freezing outside I want to give them a little taste of the outdoors while they're cooped up inside... Enter: Fresh Patch. This luscious grass patch is exactly what the cats wanted. They eat the grass. They play on the grass. They lay on the grass. They like it if you throw their treats into it, so they have to work to find them in the grass.I'm honestly shocked that they don't advertise to cat owners and that everything is dog-based because this actually seems like an even better product for cats than dogs!
