so unique!
These are really pretty flowers. I ordered all the colors I could get and wish i had more. The leaves on this plant smell a bit like the citronella plant so i'm hoping these cleomes will have the same effect on critters :)

they are beautiful as I've had them before
Will sow these in the spring. But as an avid gardener, they are beautiful as I've had them before. They're tough, self sow, and are fool proof for the person who hasn't got that green thumb.

I'm pretty irritated. Having read the reviews
I'm pretty irritated. Having read the reviews, I ordered these last month, thinking since they seem to be native to the mid-west, the package might arrive from somewhere around there. Imagine my surprise when the mail delivered a small parcel from Haui an City, Qing He Qv Huai an Jiang Su, CHINA! On the customs section, it read, "Daily necessities". I had no idea what might be inside, and was both curious and cautious. Each packet reads, "Cleome (Spider Flower) Seeds Addition to its own fully developed internal conditions of seed germination, needs to have the appropriate environmental conditions to proceed. The so-called environmental factors such as moisture, temperature, air and light." Ugh! I refuse to shop at Walmart since so much of their merchandise is from China, so I sure won't be planting these in my American garden.

I didn't chill mine and the seeds germinated just fine. Plant the peat pot in your garden about ...
I save the seeds in the fall and plant them in the spring. I fill several 6 to 8" deep containers with seed starting mix. I sprinkle the seeds lightly on top of the soil then lightly press them down spray lightly with a spray bottle. keep the soil damp. seeds will take about 2-3 weeks to germinate.when seedlings are about 2 to 3 " tall, I transfer the seedlings to 6" peat pots. Some post say to chill the seeds for about 1 week. I didn't chill mine and the seeds germinated just fine.Plant the peat pot in your garden about 18" apart. I use Miracle Gro all purpose plant food about every 14 days.Happy Gardening.Cleome flowers like about 6 hours of full sun. less than 6hrs, you'll have tall plants but few flowers.
