This is product is god value.However, as an experienced angler of 30 years I would’ve thought that if Matt hates has put his name to this he would’ve have quality controlled the product, the reel with this outfit is very poor !! I bought this for my daughter hoping it would do the job for a the odd day session, and it does! But I went straight out and bought a better one for not a lot of money. The spool is loose when it sits on the reel and very wobbly! It’s not great and let’s this good package down. Rod is great fun as is the quality of the component parts for a beginner to fishing.My daughter had lots of fun using this set and she is 9.But please do something about the reel!

I got this set up 1 month ago used it a handful of times and i was casting a 40g feeder and it snapped the rod clean in two I WOULD AVOID THIS there are plenty of better options available for a better price also

The rod is light weight and a real enjoyment to fighting fish the feeders supplied are good the maggot feeder is a screw type and had success with it and the method feeder i didn't use the hooks as they are a bit long for feeder fishing and didn't want to lessen them as useful for float would be nice if they supplied short nylon hairs rigs the rod rest is good. The reel is terrible and the line i changed the line before i used it and my 1st catch a 1lb roach broke the reel the book is a bit useless doesn't show beginners how to use the equipment for value its ok as long as u have other tackle to hand wouldnt buy and go fish with this as things are needed

Great for the price

As the title says, the rod is fantastic and makes this set a good one. The reel is good, and comes with a spare spool, however the supplied line should be replaced ASAP unless you’re happy with constant tangles. Even removing a good length of line didn’t help, although I did still manage a decent fishing session landing a couple of nice carp before having to give up due to my 3rd tangle. Lastly, invest in a decent bank stick as this one is beyond bad... This is still a really good starter set though, and I would thoroughly recommend it as a starting point to build from.

I brought the product and decided to test it on a lake nearby, everything else was fine apart from the reel which would not tighten and would barely be able to pull the line in with nothing on. This product isn’t great as is not good quality . Do not buy

Rod pretty good, decent set of feeder bits and bobs, but the reel is awful. For the price, not fair to complain...buy the reel and line are going in the bin.
