A Good Solid Toy They will play with for a Long time .
We've actually had this for a few years now . I'm trying to review some of my sons toys before the holidays come so that it might aid others in choosing their purchases . My son is now 7 and still enjoys this . You do have to replace the markers that come with it over time , but I think that's only natural . If anything it has taught him to be a lot more creative with his own drawings instead of the ones that came with this set . Please note that we did use the drawings at first , now he's doing his own thing . And that's the kind of play that I personally encourage .It rotates , lights up and meets several sensory needs . Very easy to clean , use a damp paper towel to wipe off , dry it and you're ready for new drawings .It's really a great toy when you shut off the lights and enjoy the glow feature . He has spend many hours playing with this .I highly recommend it . It's quality , and aids in their own creativity ,

If it actually worked for a few minutes I might change my mind.
Well, it's Christmas and my son just opened his brand new Crayola Glow Dome! How exciting? Right?Okay, that's some sarcasm. While it is Christmas, and my son did get a brand new Crayola Glow Dome, it's not really exciting. Why? Because my husband is currently trying to get it to WORK. It has brand new batteries in it (that were also purchased on Amazon haha). The problem is the dome doesn't sit on the track the right way-so while if we get it sat down the lights work, the dome just will not rotate. Sure, we push the button and it goes around-for about 2 seconds and then it completely shuts off-lights and all.It is a great toy in theory-and looked awesome on the commercials, but after reading several other reviews this seems to be a pretty common issue and isn't related to just one dome, therefore not worth trying to get a new one in exchange. So if you have patience and cardboard (what we are using as a crutch to "fix" the off track dome)-give it a try. But if you want a toy that works out of the box (like most of us do), save your money and buy something else!

Cool toy!
My grandaughter loved it last christmas. It was cool to turn out the lights and play their favorite pix with the glow dome. Crayola also has a nice Internet site to print out more pictures so if any get lost print out some more! Needed more for her little sister to color and display also. Kids always like it when you play along too. I always lose our contest on who can color the best. Another great thing is the machine has self storage for the crayons. NICE TOUCH-parts stay together for the next time we play! Maybe then I'll be the champ and can add how I became the CHAMPION OF ALL TIME. sorry , I was dreaming there...

great toy!
My daughter has had this toy for over two years. It still works great! She makes beautiful creations for all the holidays and sets it up on a shelf for everyone to admire. I'm not sure why others had a hard time with it staining...she has had no problems at all. It is very cute, and an opportunity for her to get creative with a "3d dimensional feel" to it. Obviously she does not sit down and play with it for hours, but, she does use it fairly regularly and seems to truly enjoy it, as we enjoy displaying her creations.

Glow Dome for my 6 year old son
Like it. Only negative thing is the colors are so light when you draw them (they do not show up well in the light), only in the dark. So my son exerts more effort trying to make his drawings darker. Once you get the hang of it it is good, and stores well.My son has more fun watching than drawing, becasue the initial product is so light when first being drawn it does not become interesting until you get in a dark place and turn the lights and rotation on.The postives far outweigh the negatives and it is fun and worth the money.Chuck

Fun to play with, even for us older "kids"
I bought this for one of my nieces for Christmas - she is 8. At first, she was off playing with it by herself, but then we couldn't help but join in the fun. This thing does more than I thought it would do, and me being too lazy to read the instructions, she had it all figured out on her own anyway. We used some boxes for a body and made the dome a big glowing robot head. Then she made it into a volcano. It was very cool, especially with the lights turned off. I was really impressed with this thing, and it was well worth the small price (I would have expected to pay about twice this much). The shipping was fantastic, I ordered it last minute and it was delivered very quickly. If you buy this for a kid, bring a couple AA batteries with you, because they will want to play with it right away!

So much fun! My son loved it!
This was a big hit on Christmas- hard to beat out the PSP Go, but he played with it for atleast an hour, and has been using it alot ever since. He likes to use it as a nigh-light after he's done his "masterpiece" on it. And it has a plug-in function so that's possible. SMART thinking!!He wasn't too impressed with the 3-D drawing pad, that comes with markers and 3-D glasses- it's not too 3-D at all. Not what we expected. :0(I highly reccommend the Glow Dome, however!

Entertaining...
This product was entertaining. The kids dove right in and started drawing things on the dome and inside on the flat panel. It was easy to put together. And once they had colored they tried the different rotation features, after the batteries were installed. As other reviews noted, it does make some noise when it rotates. The other thing I was disappointed in was the markers. They will need to be replaced soon I think and I don't know where I'm going to find the right kind of markers to make this work. If this gift was for one child, who really liked drawing, and erasing and drawing something new, I would totally recommend this product. But I would keep an eye out for replacement markers.

Great fun for everyone!
I had no idea what this product was but my 6 year old daughter insisted that she wanted one for Christmas and it's provided great entertainment. The product comes with a base. In the centre of the base is some see through plastic which stands up. This is where you draw your picture...e.g a diver under the sea. Then you draw some extra things on the plastic dome e.g fish. Put the dome on top of the base, and switch on. It will look like the fish are moving around the diver. There are various settings. The dome rotates, the lights can flash on and off or stay on constant, but my daughter has had great fun playing with it and creating various scenes. Inside the box are two scenes to trace to get you started. There are also more scenes on the crayola website that you can print off, but my little girl has loved creating her own scenes. This definitely works better if you don't colour in the pictures and just draw the outline. Also, it doesn't look that impressive in daylight so it's much better to play with it in the dark!

quite a good toy for the money...
We bought this for our daughters 6th birthday. Basically, you draw images on the plastic dine with a wipe clean pen, and it then turns around, flashing and changing color. It has a few settings which give different effects. Quite good, my only comment would be that she drew on it once, and she switches it on every so often but hasn't been interested in rubbing out the image and starting again. It's really an ornament in her bed room now, but one she made herself, so she likes it...

Love this
My daughter got this for her birthday in Feb 2012. Thought it was a good price and Amazon cheaper then anywhere else I had seen it.My daughter is 7 and Ives this, she loves drawing and the fact you can make it go round and see your drawing in the dark was great. It's a good sturdy toy and is still played with a lot and in good condition considering she has had it 10 months, would buy again if I need to get a present for one of her friends.
