Very cool, adorable tent option with liftgate attachment.
We used this tent for one night of island camping in FL, low of 65F, humidity 80%, no rain, occasionally gusty. We wanted something for entry-level camping. It was a lot of fun! Don't skip the rain fly, it will help keep your tall tent upright.Pros: the connection to the liftgate is awesome. Its like having a closet that helps anchor your tent. We were comfortable and the rain fly kept the condensation off of us. Decent ventilation without the cold gusts of wind reaching us. The size was so comfy for two adults, we could stand upright and walk around a little, plus have our queen size air mattress and some items comfortably in there with us. If we had a kid there was enough room to place a small sleeping bag next to the mattress (PS please don't be the parent that crams a family of 4 into one of these "four person" tents, I grew up doing that and its horrible).Cons: you definitely have to close the liftgate and zip up its tent entry to keep bugs out. The loose fabric for the liftgate will crinkle a lot in the wind once you close the liftgate. While this tent is completely functional, you can tell it's not high quality from little things like the zippers being on the lightweight side (sometimes they take some jiggling) and the lines of the side panels not lining up perfectly.Given how cheap this tent is, I would be happy getting 4 uses out of it. I'd be shocked if this tent lasted more than a few years, but with proper storage, who knows. I would recommend this tent to anyone who wants the liftgate option and isn't going to be in a place with high winds - the height is a tad worrying with how it catches the wind. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

Affordable, easy to set up solo!
This tent hooks up great to my Subaru Forester. Like other reviewers said, the instructions that come with the tent are useless, they are clearly for a different tent or version because they describe the main poles crossing which they don't. There are only 3 poles in this setup, you put in the shorter cross pole first, otherwise it is difficult to add when the tent is upright, then you do the long poles.I car camp solo so I practiced assembling this at home first and have now used it for 4 camping trips and can get it fully up, attached, and staked in 10 minutes alone without issue. It is a little awkwardly wobbly at first, you have to sort of flip it like the pages of a book once the first long pole is in, but the key is not staking it down until all the poles are in and it is attached to your car. Then you stake the corners closest to your car first and stake the other corners with tension.I have not had rain so far so I don't bother with the rain fly but I practiced adding it and it does see to work fine. I have also not had issues with bugs coming in through the car sleeve, but I have seen folks who do have those issues use magnets with success. All zippers have worked great, nothing has broken or created issues for me. The included stakes are basic and a little flimsy, as with most included tent stakes. The floor is never totally taught, and it is probably not the thickest tent floor I've dealt with, but I put a tarp under my tents regardless so it has held up fine. I really appreciate having head room at 5'11 and more private space than sleeping in my car would otherwise provide. Will this last me 20 years? Probably not, but also neither will my car! And for the price this is great and will likely last me at least a few more summers of casual camping. The only real downside is that the tent is NOT small or compact. It does fit in the bag but you need to be mindful of how you fold it so it's not too long but also not too bulky. The zipper on the carrying bag doesn't feel super strong but it hasn't broken on me yet, but to take some strain off it I use a bungee as I roll the tent up.

Great roomy tent
Great, roomy tent!! I had some difficulty assembling it but a large part of that was down to doing it by myself as well as the winds coming off of the water at my campsite. There’s a part in the instructions that tells you not to stake it until it’s entirely together, but I had to stake one side before I could put the other side up because it kept blowing over. So...if you’re going by yourself be prepared to call various pieces of camping equipment in to be used as weights. My cooler and plastic storage tote worked well, lol. I didn’t put the rainfly on because it would’ve been extremely difficult for me to do by myself with the tent upright but I wasn’t concerned because the weather didn’t call for rain while I was camping. It did end up sprinkling just a little bit but the tent stayed dry, even without the rainfly. It was easy to attach to the back of my car (a Nissan Rogue). In fact, that was the easiest part of the whole process.Inside, it is very spacious and tall. I am 5’7” and I was essentially able to stand upright in it (again why the rainfly was going to be tricky). It was very nice having access to my car’s rear charging ports as well as a place to stick my cooler where I could access it easily and also not have it directly under the hot Key West sun.The stakes...well the stakes left something to be desired. The ground where I was camping was not very soft and the stakes started bending when I was hammering them in. I bought some thick, heavy duty stakes at the campground store which worked much better. I’d advise anybody purchasing this tent to consider purchasing sturdier stakes, especially if you know the ground where you are pitching your tent is not soft.I would also advise paying close attention to how the tent is packed so that you can repack it, haha. When packing up at the site, I couldn’t fit the rainfly or the poles/stakes back in the bag. When I got home and could repack it (with help and with no wind) we still were only able to get the tent and poles/stakes in the bag. The poor rainfly was left out. I bought a large rolling duffle that is able to accommodate the tent (as I repacked it), the rainfly, my air mattress, and all of my other camping accoutrements aside from my sleeping bag. If packing as neatly as the manufacturer is not your strong suit, I’d also recommend that. The bag is just not roomy enough to get everything in without perfect packing skills. All in all, this tent provides an outstanding value for the money. I can’t wait to go camping with it again!

Great tent for the price
This tent is wonderful. I've used it a couple times now. I have a crv and it hooks up nicely. There's tons of room and it's easy enough to set up by myself, though the fly is a little difficult to put on alone (it would probably be easier if I were taller). It also held up in a bit of rain. The only issue I have is the pegs bend easy. But over all, this tent is well worth the purchase.

Perfect!!...almost!
I camp by myself a lot, and, I had a bear encounter of the close kind, last summer. I vowed to never be that exposed again. I resolved to find a lightweight trailer option, even though it offended my camping sensibilities! As distasteful as that was, it seemed like the only solution. And then I stumbled on SUV tents. I looked at them all, read all the reviews, did as much research as I could. There are more expensive versions out there that don't review as well, and, the complaints noted in the reviews of this one seem like one-offs to me - the kind of thing that happens at 3:55 on a Friday afternoon at the plant. Although basic, the set-up instructions are effective. It's important to adhere to the 'don't peg it down, yet' part. You'll want to position it correctly on your SUV, then peg it down. The connection to the SUV is effective, and simple. Use the guy-ropes! I experienced high winds off the lake on the weekend just passed, March 7-9, 2021, at Okanagan Lake Provincial Park in south central British Columbia, and the whole set-up was rock solid. Although this is the shake-down, and only, voyage for the 'North Harbor', she performed admirably, and I'm feeling good about my summer camping season. I definitely recommend this tent. Not sure what 'stretch' and 'thickness' refer to, though!Edit 08-02-2022After a full season of use, I have only 1 complaint. The quality of the zippers is s#@t!! Haven't decided whether to replace the zippers (if I can!) or replace the tent. It served me very well last season, and I definitely put the miles on it, in all kinds of conditions, (even winter camping in Manning Park -12 overnight!!). It's just disappointing that such a good design has such inferior materials.

Van Camping!!
I was worried that it would be too small for a minivan because it was specifically mentioned for SUVs but on the trail run it worked great. I didn't peg it down in the driveway so it looks a bit wonky but it's a really good size. Set up is relatively easy although the instructions said the main supports were diagnol but one goes on each side, then the shorter one goes across the top. I can't wait to take this one the road.

Hummmm I like it generally, but
I bought this suv tent last year but yesterday it’s the first time I used it for my 1st time Model Y camping. For the price, I think I should not complain too much as the idea was good, and the quality is based on the price. So here are my pros and cons below:Pros:1) Good size, about a 4 person tent. My child and I slept on the car and my husband slept in the tent.2) Nice ventilation, windows/doors with mesh.3) Easy setup- 2 long poles and 1 short, first time needs a bit time to figure out, but it's manageable and almost 1 person able to do.Cons:1) The connection with the car was not good. Model Y’s trunk door was quite high so the connection part was a bit too short and when pulling too much to cover the back, the whole tent structure would be twisted and it made the zippers very hard to close and risk of getting damaged. I think this was not its fault as it’s not designed for Model Y. After connecting, there were 3 big gaps on the top and at both side and I would have to fill them up with something. If it’s in Summer, bugs will be so free to come into the car.2) The zipper qualities are truly not good.3) The door design was not good, it didn’t support side open so it’s not easy getting in and out.I will need to figure out how to improve the connection part myself by potentially adding something to it, as it’s the biggest concern. Hopefully I will work it out!

Super happy we went with this.
We had a typical tent, but were heading out to a festival as vendors, and were looking at variable weather.I was thinking that i was going to build something akin to this with tarps, and use the back of a van we were using. I was very happy to find these being sold and decided to grab this one.We were chuffed, just super, mega happy with this tent.We put it up at night, in the dark; still came together pretty straight forward. It kept water out; actually we caused a corner to flood and it contained the water a bit too well!Using the bed of the van as our bed, was a godsend in the rain and mud. Being able to slide right out into the tent helped keep out so much more mud than on previous trips. The ability to turn on the lights or run the van for a bit for heat/ac/charging while half in half out was great. So far the material has held up very well. Zippers smooth, material feels adequately thick and solid, the seams found no tears and seemed solid. Double doors/mosquito netting was all cleanly done.
