Very bright display that works well in a very demanding back lit environment.
The previous TV had side-lit LEDs that were simply not bright enough to compete with the light entering the room. The 55SM9000 has a much brighter full panel LED coverage that enables it to get much brighter (without getting a "washed out" look). In summary, this is the best TV I've ever owned. If I was going to make one change it would have been to have purchased the 65" model as opposed to the 55" model.
