While I always appreciate anything to get more storage space into a Jeep Wrangler, this has to be one of the most ill conceived ideas ever.This storage tray slides into the grab handle located in front of the passenger, allowing ‘dead space’ to be used for sarge of small items. There are two adhesive strips to help it adhere to the vehicle, and it slides into the open space on the handle.However, unlike the version for the JK, this tray rises above the handle and blocks the airbag panel, partially blocking it.Airbags deploy at roughly 200mph, and this tray is in the way of it. One of two things will happen to this tray in the event of an airbag deployment:1. The tray will go flying off (in tact) and turn into a projectile, and it’s less than two feet from the passenger’s body and face.2. The tray will shatter and pieces of it will turn not projectiles less than two feet from the passenger’s body and face.(Let’s also keep in mind that this item is intended to hold items in it, all of which have the potential of becoming projectiles in the event of airbag deployment.)Given some of the rough situations a Jeep can be put in, this seems like a recipe for disaster.While this is a great idea in concept, the potential risk is just too high.I’d be willing to revise my review if someone could show me there was safety testing done on this item, but until then I couldn’t recommend this item.

When I started installing it, I realized it would be positioned right in front of the passenger’s airbag. I don’t think it’s safe to put anything there, much less with loose objects inside it that would possibly be launched as projectiles at a very high rate of speed by the airbag deploying. Just the airbag by itself can cause an injury due to the force at which it deploys. Too risky. Gotta pass on this storage idea.

I have an '01 Wrangler - it's been my daily driver for 20 years. I never realized how badly I needed a spot to store things I need while driving! It's so convenient! It holds 1-2 glasses cases, pens, a small notebook, hand sanitizer, extra masks, chapstick, etc. I did not adhere it using the sticky strips though as it's literally blocking the airbag lol. I used big clear sticky dots (like earthquake putty - anything that's tacky enough to stay put but also removed easily) to just keep it in place. That way I can remove it when I have a passenger. It fits so perfectly in the handlebar slot in my TJ and matches the dark grey really well. I really recommended this nifty catch-all. Keeps stuff close but out of the way.

Needed some more space in my TJ so naturally picked this product. The function of it is awesome using the dead space behind the grab handle. The handle itself is now useless if anyone was wondering. When I received it I made sure to use alcohol to clean the mating surface so the tape would adhere. Didn't put anything in the storage for a full 24 hours. After my waiting period I notice the right corner of the product wasn't sticking to the airbag area. I then noticed it wasn't sticking because the product was a tad bit warped and wasn't straight. This made it impossible for the top side of the storage to adhere. Still works but it isn't as sturdy as the manufacturer made it to be.

This is a nice idea for a little additional storage. As has come up is the possibility of an airbag issue. I did install mine but with a little modification, I drilled 3 small holes in the bottom as norm have my top down in the summer and have more then once got caught in rain and with mo holes any rain would just collect in it

TJ’s have very little storage. This product is a great way to add a little extra storage . It’s sturdy, not bulky or in the way, and installs in less than a minute. Very happy with it!

It’s perfect for a phone or wallet. But had to remove the aftermarket phone holder I had purchased. But to us it’s worth losing that for the storage bin

Works great in my 98 wrangler tj. I didn’t even use the tape fits snug. Is an awesome tray.
