Three of my favorite Streisand films
I do not give away plots or provide spoilers. My reasons for awarding five stars to this set is it contains my top three favorite films featuring Streisand. For once I was able to purchase a set of films that had all of my top choices.Starting with the oldest, here are my reasons why I love these films:The Way We Were (1973): among her earlier works, which to me were good, but not spectacular, this one stands out. First, it contains a more mature storyline. Contrast this with the almost slapstick writing behind What's Up Doc and similar work during her early period. I will concede that Funny Girl, her very first film from 1968 is mature as well. However, adding Redford to any script adds a lot to any film in which he has a role, and add in some very quotable lines, and to me The Way We Were is a classic. The Prince of Tides (1991): I am a big fan of Pat Conroy's writing, and his Low Country flavor infused into the script appeals to me. Of course, having Nick Nolte in the film opposite Streisand is a plus. Mainly because the script (which closely follows Conway's novel of the same name) required a quirky leading man to add authenticity to the morass of emotions swirling throughout the plot. Another interesting point (to me) is how well Streisand directed this film. The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996): I have to admit that the plot is somewhat farcical, but the cast of heavies, which include Jeff Bridges, Pierce Brosnan, George Segal and Lauren Bacall make up for that. Bridges, in particular, did an excellent job in his role, but Bacall was my favorite. Granted, she managed to steal some scenes. However, she was also nominated for an Oscar for her role as Streisand's mother. Another reason why this is a favorite is Streisand did an excellent job as director, and as one of the producers.

When Amazon AND Tristar/Sony Pictures lie!
I bought this "Triple Feature", because back in November, in the process of getting my Christmas shopping done before things got even crazier, I ordered a single DVD release of the film "The Mirror Has Two Faces", to surprise my mom for Christmas. On the Amazon page for THAT single DVD, the description for it states "Aspect Ratio: 1.85:1";THAT, is false! The DVD I got is a "Fullscreen" transfer of the film, even says so on the back of the DVD cover, which Amazon conveniently did NOT show in the pictures for THAT DVD.Well, this is even worse. The description for this "Triple Feature" which includes "The Mirror Has Two Faces", "The Prince Of Tides" and "The Way We Were", says "Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1, 1.85:1", and on the back of the DVD cover, both in the INCLUDED picture of the product (yes, a picture of the back of the DVD cover on Amazon's page, for a change!), AND the DVD that I received, each film lists the individual aspect ratio; ONLY "The Prince Of Tides" is listed as being "1.33:1", aka "Fullscreen", and fine, I don't care, that wasn't the point of why I ordered this DVD.The back cover lists "The Mirror Has Two Faces" as being "1.85:1". WRONG!So, NOT ONLY does Amazon lie (maybe not purposely...), so does the company that put out this DVD, and the company names printed on this DVD are Tristar and Sony Pictures. I'm guessing it's Sony Pictures is the main one at this point.Anyway, for anyone looking for "The Mirror Has Two Faces" or either of the other two films included in this "Triple Feature", don't trust the aspect ratios (also, the actual DVD discs in each one I ordered, are the EXACT SAME disc!) that are printed on the cover!

Straight to play video. Check rotten tomatoes for movie review
Video review: Goes straight into playing without DVD menuMovie review: I only bought this for The Mirror Has Two Faces, which I love. This marriage first, love story second premise is a bit of a stretch but entertaining. This story slowly shines as you see how they both take their own path to realize they are capable of having a loving relationship. Totally sappy, and surprisingly funny, but that's the whole point. The Way We Were: This movie is so retro, Hollywood probably thought they were the first to discover that SOME girls have brains too. Its a long movie to take seriously, but one might enjoy the historicity of attitudes of people in the 70's

3-in-1!!!
Superb! I love how it included 2 of my favorite Barbara Streisand movies. I have seen The Mirror Has Two Faces and The Way We Were and I loved it both. The Prince o Tides is a great addition to my collection. I am now looking forward to buying Funny Girl next!Although, the quality of the movies are good, considering that they're DVDs, the case has some scratches on them.

mauvaise information
