Nippes2-Piece Stainless Steel Nail Clipper Set Made in Solingen Germany

I bought one of these about 12 years ago in a local store that has closed. I wanted an additional pair to replace a different worn-out brand. These ARE EXCELLENT!!! I hadn't realized they were made in Germany but boy, do they show it! Very fine cutting edge, nice secure grip, everything you could ask for and at an excellent price. I am going to order another set for my spouse, and one to keep at the back of my drawer in case in another decade they are harder to find. HIGHLY recommended!!!

My wife and I have enjoyed using these after replacing our dollar store nail clippers. Very sharp and cut with very little pressure.

Solingen,Germany is world renowned for producing fine swords and knives. So I purchased this nail clipper set with high expectations for quality, fit and finish. After using them for several months, I am pleased with quality and the performance of these clippers. Adding the "catcher" for clippings was a nice touch, and it does work, though it does miss a few, depending on the angle of use. The function is smooth and the cutting edge is sharp, cutting easily and effortlessly. I also like the design because the part that is depressed to make the cut is squared at the end (rather than pointed like many cheapies), providing more area to depress and a good grip. The finish is brushed stainless steel, and fit and finish is excellent. For the price, they are an excellent buy if you want the basic clipper set. I haven't tried the super-expensive clippers, but the Nippes set works so well, I don't feel I need to. You won't be disappointed.

I've never come across a nail clipper that couldn't perform it's only purpose, cutting nails, until now. They don't cut the nail completely, instead leave a rigid edge. Luckily I had another pair to clean up this mess.

Was frustrated with trying to remove the plastic catcher. It doesn't slide!! Instead, you must take a small screwdriver, place it underneath the edge right under the little bubble near the cutting edge. Then twist to lift the catcher, and it pops right off.Tried to find the instructions on the Nippes website, then scanned the reviews, but no dice.Hope this helps!

Top quality materials and craftsmanship. Assuming I don't misplace/loose them, these will last the rest of my life, they're that good. Makes me wish all products were produced to this standard of excellence. The attached (plastic) nail-catcher can slide off for those that prefer or need to use these at different angles and tolerances. I've already repurchased some and given as gifts to family members. Outstanding.

Very nice nail clippers. Very glad I bought them. I do, however, agree with the comment made by another reviewer -- if these were really made in Germany, they would say so. (But I don't care, because they are good quality.)
