I have ice again!
Our repair man told us many years ago that our ice maker could not be fixed. We bought a stand alone ice maker and it did us well for all that time. I recently came across replacements for entire ice makers and found one that fit our older freezer. Husband got it put in fairly easily, and we were so excited! The only problem I have is the ice DOES get caught on the bail sometimes and that stops the ice making. A little annoying, but, we just check it periodically and move on. I have an ice maker and water dispenser that actually work, so, I am happy! (3.5 stars only because of the bail issue)

My take months to get up to speed.
Pathetic. Works but I can make ice faster with cube trays. Have installed several ice makers over the years for myself and others without any problems. This one is junk. Skip the middle man and throw your money into the land fill. Re-review. Now, many months later it works correctly. Guess a “break in” time of several months is necessary. Odd.3rd. Review. 10 months in and now slow again. 1 dump of ice every 24 hours. Sad.

It makes lots of ice, just jams a lot.
Ice gets Jammed as it’s being dumped in the storage bin.

It makes Ice much quicker than original.
The only potential issue is the cable hangs a little - so you may need to use caution when removing the tray for cleaning.

Easy to install, questionable functionality
This dropped right in to replace an old one which stopped working properly.The three stars comes from ice getting stuck on the bail, so the switch gets tripped to stop making ice, but because the ice is stuck on the bail, it doesn’t reset when the ice level gets low.The design of the freezer has a panel in front of the ice maker, so it’s not always easy to check if all is well.Editing this: After a few different modifications to the bail, freshly made ice still frequently, yet unpredictably jams between the bail and the body of the ice maker. Completely frustrating, this deserves less than one star.
