And a Much Easier and More Portable Alternative to Dry Ice For A Few Hours. - I flew from Jersey to FL using 5 of these, in two insulated bags in a checked suitcase, to keep homemade ice cream that I made to surprise someone frozen. When I arrived we had 7 hours of being out and about until our 3pm check-in. About 15 hours had passed when it was time to open it and one of the places we went let me put the bag in their freezer for an hour. I was scared to open the bag when it finally came time to reveal the surprise. It was a win! The ice-cream was still frozen! I do think the double insulated bag inside a suitcase helped for sure. Also because these are foam I didn't have to worry about a ton of water melting but there is naturally a bit on condensation but far less than ice. *IMPORTANT NOTE: Prior to purchasing these I noticed someone complained about how flimsy the bags were and that they tore. They are right! The plastic IS flimsy! So learning from their review I always keep each of them in their own closed ziplock back when I use them so I that the plastic always has a layer protecting it from tearing. WILL extend the life of these by a ton! I have never has to repurchase them. I even refreeze them in the ziplock. They basically live in their ziplock bags and from time to time I'll open them to clean them as needed. Since the ice cream mission I have also used them wonderfully to keep my lunch, such as salads, cool on a summers day and to keep groceries cool when I am not heading straight home. Definitely happy I bought these. Review: Excellent ice block - Love these. They are definitely a foam brick, that upon freezeing develops a center bump. They have slightly more weight than most ice blocks, due to being bigger. Throw in the lunchbag, and goes 8 hours. These are bigger, and better, last longer to keep food cold. Ive been rotating 2-3 units daily thru the lunch bag cycle. They are durable, no holes after 3 months of daily use. They refreeze hard overnight, no issues. I expect these to last a couple years based on similar product experience in the past, and how they have done so far in 3 months. Great value. Buy, buy , buy. ## Features - Long lasting - Rigid foam - Reusable - Economical - Keeps frozen products chilled for an extended period of time ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B009W7YA30 | | Best Sellers Rank | #49,730 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #15 in Refrigerants | | Brand | Polar Tech | | Brand Name | Polar Tech | | Color | White/Blue | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 1,344 Reviews | | Included Components | N//A | | Item Dimensions L x W | 4.5"L x 4"W | | Item Weight | 15 ounces | | Manufacturer | Polar Tech Industries, Inc | | Manufacturer Part Number | RB 15 | | Material | Foam | | Material Type | Foam | | Model Number | RB 15 | | Number of Items | 6 | | Package Size Name | Case of 6 | | Product Dimensions | 4.5"L x 4"W | | UPC | 604945297237 641927054204 | | Unit Count | 6 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Polar Tech - **Color:** White/Blue - **Item Weight:** 15 ounces - **Material:** Foam - **Product Dimensions:** 4.5"L x 4"W ## Images ![Polar Tech - RB 15 RB15 Re-Freez-R-Brix Foam Refrigerant Pack, 4-1/2" Length x 4" Width x 1-1/2" Thick (Case of 6) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/711FcVsiJuL.jpg) ![Polar Tech - RB 15 RB15 Re-Freez-R-Brix Foam Refrigerant Pack, 4-1/2" Length x 4" Width x 1-1/2" Thick (Case of 6) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61QV8pLDrZL.jpg) ![Polar Tech - RB 15 RB15 Re-Freez-R-Brix Foam Refrigerant Pack, 4-1/2" Length x 4" Width x 1-1/2" Thick (Case of 6) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51b6zyqUtDL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: How much does each brick weigh?** A: Each brick when frozen weighs ~450g (just slightly less than a pound). **Q: is this product good/safe for keeping my food cool in a lunch box?** A: Yes, they are really better than the gel ones, I specifically bought these because of the foam as I has some before and the worked really well. I would probably use 2 or more depending on the size of your lunch box. **Q: When not used, should I keep them in the refrigerator?** A: I don't, I just keep them in the empty cooler, make sure you put in the freezer a good 48 hours before you plan to use them. **Q: Why is the two pack more expensive than buying two one packs?** A: I don't know; ask Amazon. That seems true with many of their offerings. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works Well! The delivery was supposed to be within 48 hours and due to not one but TWO good ups from DHL it arrived in 96 hours so 4 days. I thought for sure we would need to go through the hassle again. But to our delight, the samples were at 6Β°c (42.8F) and it would be unacceptable if it was 8Β°C (46.4F) or higher. Thankfully the lab said they are 95% certain it won't be an issue and immediately sent my 30 0.5ml vials into a -80c (-112F) freezer. These things saved my ass and are AWESOME! Regular old supermarket freeze blocks definitely would not of held up in 80F+ weather for 4 days. Absolutely insane. Will always use these from now on. ## Frequently Bought Together - Polar Tech - RB 15 RB15 Re-Freez-R-Brix Foam Refrigerant Pack, 4-1/2" Length x 4" Width x 1-1/2" Thick (Case of 6) - Polar Tech 245C Thermo Chill Insulated Carton with Foam Shipper, Medium, 17" Length x 10" Width x 8-1/4" Depth, Original Version - Polar Tech - RB 30 RB30 Re-Freez-R-Brix Foam Refrigerant Pack, 9" Length x 4" Width x 1-1/2" Thick (Case of 3) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.cy/products/1668672-polar-tech-rb-15-rb15-re-freez-r-brix-foam](https://www.desertcart.com.cy/products/1668672-polar-tech-rb-15-rb15-re-freez-r-brix-foam) --- *Product available on Desertcart Cyprus* *Store origin: CY* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
