Terrific Range
I have these on several gates around our property. I do not know how it does it, but I have managed to add them to gates that we can not pick up Wi-Fi signal from our phones. But it definitely does pick up and works when opening and closing from the app. The range on this is really impressive. Set up is simple and it opens and closes the gates within seconds of opening the app and clicking open or close. These are great for us on the farm because now we can look at the app to confirm that the gates got closes in the evening. Please do note though that in the past, they have only lasted a couple of years. These appear to be a newer model so I am hoping that I get more time from it. If not, it is worth the approximate $45 per year it will cost to buy new ones every 2 years.

Dishonest seller
Unfortunately, this product did not work for me because I was unable to connect it to my WiFi network. I contacted Mighty Mule customer support and spent time troubleshooting the issue, but I was still unable to get the device to work properly with the app. It is possible that the unit I received was defective, so I cannot say that others will necessarily have the same experience. My main concern — and the reason for the 1-star review — is the return process. I properly repackaged the item and returned it through Amazon, but I never received a refund or any communication explaining why the refund was denied. If there was an issue with the return, I believe the product should have been sent back to me since it had already been paid for.Pros:* Mighty Mule products generally have a good reputation and appear to be well designed.Cons:* Poor customer service and return handling from the seller.* Returned product was accepted, but no refund or explanation was provided.Based on my experience, I would be cautious about purchasing from this seller.

Ignore Negative Reviews. It Rocks
I normally don’t take the time to write reviews, but felt compelled based on the gap between what I read and my experience. This product works very well for us, and is underpriced for the value. There’s a delay from commands compared to handheld units due to WiFi, router(s), internet, etc.It creates a detailed log for you with gate open/close times.Using AI help will create confusion for you, as it’s pulling from old manuals, and new, creating directions you can’t follow. Stay with the QR code from instructions, and you’ll be good. There are videos on Amazon from a user, I felt quite accurate.I’m not buying 1/2 mile range. We’re 125yds from base to gate. I placed it on my desk by window, 125yds to get it to work. Anywhere else, it would not communicate. It works with direct line of sight for us.We love it!

Wrong colour but works well
Works as advertised. I did take one star off because mine is grey and not black but it’s not the end of the world. The app was a bit tricky to get started, but once it was set up it was easy to add others and set up secondary accounts. As others have mentioned the app sometimes is late on notifications and doesn’t always pick up when the gate has been opened or closed.A feature no one has mentioned is the charging indicator. Since my gate is only connected to solar power it’s nice to know that the panel is getting enough sun during the day to charge the battery.

Pain first setup but otherwise wonderful!
Despite the bad reviews this product has received, I really wanted to be able to open my gate for Guest while I am away if needed. So I decided it was time for the Mighty Mule MMS100 100 Wireless Connectivity System as the price dropped to around a hundred dollars. When you load the Mighty Mule application you are told it’s depreciated, and you must download Nice Go (their official new application support interface for the device). Once you install that app, it’s a simple walk though to connect to the device. However, there was an update on the device required and my devices kept dropping my home Wi-Fi connection or failing to update. It took me around 10 tries to get this update working. Once it downloaded the machine rest, and the light turned the appropriate color. My device is over 150 foot away from the gate system and seems to open and connect just fine. Google home integration works well, you do need to set a pin on the app for it to function. The app which is part of this devices interface now shows, history, open closed status and some other functions. The app allows you to make someone the co-owner without removing your ability, or a Guest limiting what the person can do with the app and history they can see. This guest part is great when people come over! The Good:Price went way down!Device is small and wall mountable.Connection speed and distances is good.Google Home integration.New app works like it should and shows history and open closed status.Multiple personnel supported and modesCons:Short power cord.Updates can be a pain.Mighty Mule support sends you to a video which is old for setup.

Worked great at first, then it went downhill
I've had my gate opener for a few months now, and got tired of dealing with the clicker fob. It seemed to operate only at certain times of the day, at various distances, all of which seemed random. I figured, getting the wireless connectivity going would solve those problems.Installing the Wi-Fi module is pretty simple, as it just plugs into the board in the control box. Fitting the antenna through the hole was a bit of a struggle because of the angle it'll be at, but it was manageable. The initial setup for the app was fairly easy. The only issue I had was copying and pasting the Wi-Fi password because it was selecting a space at the end that I wasn't noticing. That was my fault. After that was sorted, things seemed to work out pretty well. For a while. At first, it was beautiful. I could open and close the gate on a whim, using the app. Then, one day, I tried to open the gate and it started to open, then stopped. The app told me that the gate was blocked and would need to be unblocked and opened manually. Except it wasn't blocked. I used the clicker to (eventually) get the gate opened and then closed. That's happened a couple of times. And now, when I try to use it, it tells me there's no connection. Sometimes. Eventually that clears itself up. Unfortunately, it's not something that's reliable. I can't leave the house without taking the clicker, because I never know if the wireless will be working, or if it'll be disconnected, or if it's going to tell me something is blocking the gate, when it isn't.Finally, my dreams of being able to say, "Siri, open sesame!" aren't going to happen any time soon. There's no way, that I can find, where the app can be integrated into my home automation. Not even by using Shortcuts. This is something that really should be remedied. If you don't want to integrate with HomeKit, or Google, or Alexa, then just get out of the business. It would be so much nicer to use voice commands rather than having to use the app. Especially if you're driving home and would like the gate open by the time you get there.I'm not sure I could recommend this to others. If integration with home automation is an issue, you may be better off researching DIY options. Which is something I may end up doing later, if the Mighty Mule people don't make it a possibility.

Easy to install/setup
I see a lot of bad reviews of this unit but if you follow the step by step directions it is simple to setup. One note for people that can't pair their phone to the bridge: TURN OFF any auto VPN on an "unknown network" like ATT's Active Armor that I have before you try. The bridge appears as a possible "bad network access point" so that stage of the setup will fail if left on due to the VPN and will never connect. I installed the plugin unit in the control unit on the MM571W, powered on the bridge unit in the house followed by powering up the gate control board, followed the instructions pairing my smartphone to configure the bridge (after creating an account on Mighty Mule of course) to connect to my WiFi in the house and had the whole system working perfectly in less than 20 minutes. Works as it should both on my private WiFi network and via cellular only. Distance from bridge unit to gate is close to 200' through thick walls and the metal gate so did increase power to medium and works beautifully! Virtually no delay via either WiFi or cellular, maybe 1/2 second after touching the gate command. Opened and closed gate on both WiFi and cellular only several times and worked every time and I received notifications on every single open/close. Gate unit is also only solar powered with a 30w panel and two of the 7amp batteries with the auto locking system on the gate. Very happy with this whole setup for around $900 with the extra battery and third party solar panel.

Do not buy this
This thing stinks, wouldn’t connect tried multiple times over a couple weeks and was going to return and tried one more time and it finally worked, worked great (a couple issues ) but it was so nice to be able to open and close the gate from my phone, until it glitched and it’s been 3 weeks of me trying everyday resetting at the gate plugging and unplugged both units, unplugged antennas I’ve tried everything , just tried to return it and it’s out of the return window now which was only 30 days which is complete crap. I’m very upset cuz this wasn’t cheap and they delivered a flawed unit and should back their merchandise and send a replacement. Do not buy this
