Super tall and sturdy
Not only is it nice and tall, but that base is thick and solid. Nice cat scratcher!

I started the return, and then...
Coffee cup in photo is for reference as to how large this is.I bought this to hopefully get my cats to use it instead of my chair and couch that I just spent a fortune on. It was super easy to put together. However, I thought it was a bit tacky looking being so large so I started the return. I was in another room and I heard the cats picking and thought, ugh they are on my new couch. I ran into the room to stop them and realized they were on this cat scratcher and not only using it, were climbing it together and they couldn’t get enough of it. It was as if it had catnip on it.So, I kept and I am so glad I did. It doesn’t quite fit in with my decor BUT, it is staying. I have had it now for 2 months and my cats have not scratched my furniture once. They love this scratcher. They climb it, and attack it and scratch at it. One of my cats is a 15 pound ragdoll male and this scratcher never moves when he jumps on it. It is very sturdy. I am ordering another one for a different area of the house. One suggestion, to make it a bit more appealing in a home, change out that felt carpet stuff on the bottom with something a bit more appealing. :).

Good And Tall
Pretty good, if they could make them last longer they would be ideal. Well built. Regular scratching posts are usually too short, forcing cats to arch their back and try to scratch something close to ground. With this post, they can stand up fully and get a good scratch. The base is good sized and really prevents tipping. I am on my fifth one for 2 cats. They usually last us around 6 to 10 months. Solid 4 stars, possibly 5 because I haven't found a better alternative so far and these are a bit pricey.

Best scratching post for large cats
I didn't realize our tiny Siamese-mix kitten was going to grow into a 15-lb., 28" long (not counting tail, and still growing) cat. Most standard scratching posts top out at about 30". We realized this wasn't going to be enough to let the big guy stretch properly when he started going after the backs of the 35" high counter-height dining chairs and sofa. This scratching post has been the salvation of our furniture. Not only is it tall enough, this heavy-duty post is sturdy enough that the heavy-duty cat can get a running start and go for a good climb. Both of our cats seem to enjoy using it daily, and the rope isn't showing noticable wear yet.Assembly was very simple, with only four parts to screw together, no special tools required. The base is just large enough to give it decent stability. I can see the post rock a little when the cat is particularly aggressive, but it won't overturn and the cat certainly isn't deterred from climbing to the top.As cat furniture goes, it's about averagely attractive - I could wish for more colors or darker rope, but this is the only post I could find that was both long enough and reasonably priced, short of investing in the equipment to make my own.

Big boy loves this!
The six pound street cat I adopted is now a 15+ pound hobgoblin at nine months old. (Help me, I think he's still growing.) Needless to say I've had a bad time finding a post big enough to accomodate this lorge lad. Not only is he big, his claws get stuck in fabric posts so easily that he won't scratch. So instead of scratching on his cat tree, he turned his attention to my furniture. Not ideal. This is perfect for him.It came with everything needed and the instructions were extremely straightforward. And the base is really, really solid. He's extremely active (read: extra wiggly) so it shakes a bit when he climbs to the top but nowhere near enough to be a safety concern. And as you can see, it's a usable perch even if you have a 15 pound monster kitten too.Best of all, he wouldn't even let me finish putting it together before he started scratching. As far as materials go the faux fur is incredibly soft and the sisal is... well, sisal haha. I expect I'll have to rerope this at some point because wow he loves to scratch it and the sisal does leave a bit of debris when he's done, but I was aware of these things going into the purchase and the post itself should hold up for a while based on the feel of it.

Good looking
This tree is exactly as pictured, easy to put together and looks great. But I have to say that it has one major flaw: it does wobble pretty easily. The base is not quite wide enough, or it is because the posts are all centered instead of in corners. Also, the top seat is pretty small. The average size cat can't get too relaxed or she will slide out, so best for smaller cats. But that being said, the black, beige, grey pattern is very beautiful.

They love it
I have 3 cats and they use it daily. It is sturdy and easy to put together. I bought the same one 6 years ago. It lasted so long!

Apprezzato dai gatti

expensive but worth it
Solid construction for heavy ragdoll. A perch to look out the window to satisfy the tiger inside. He uses it all the time and trained to sharpen his claws on it and not the furniture (well, mostly). Really, really worth the extra money as buy once and forever. Cheaper in the long run.

CUE CAT TREE
The tree is easy to assemble and it is sturdy-although I moves it my cats jump on the boards. It is also very cute and good value for money.
