SO EASY TO USE!
I take a million photos - and while my iPhone can store all 13,000 of them, I was paying Apple $3 per month for extra storage so I could back my phone up! I would "eventually get around to moving them off my phone to the computer" I've been saying for YEARS...ENTER IBI!!!! You plug it into an electrical outlet, download the app, connect to Wifi and BINGO, it automatically starts downloading all your photos and videos to the device and allows you access to those photos from anywhere! Everytime you connect to your home network it automatically backs up your photos (if you want it to) or you can do it manually. It sorts them by take taken and if you're like me, I like to organize by month taken for ease of finding later, so then I created albums by month and VOILA - I'm organized once again and feel confident if I drop my phone in the river (again) my memories will be safe!Another cool feature is the USB capability. I have a wired external drive that I haven't been able to use lately because it wasn't compatible with my new laptop... I plugged that baby directly into the Ibi and opened the app. I selected to import the photos, videos, docs and music and it started downloading right away with no issues what-so-ever.Finally, there is an "inner circle" option in which you can share specific photos or albums with others. That can be done with anyone, whether on your house/wifi or not. And you can share whole albums or just individual photos. Nice feature! My only complaint is that I would have paid for a larger (2TB) option for the LONG haul solution, but it wasn't available! Regardless, don't hesitate if this is something you're looking for!!

Ibi- what you need to know
The good- it’s a good looking device- it’s easy to install (one cord)- you can use app or web to control- it can find all your pictures from many devices and get them to the deviceThe not so good- takes FOREVER to download pictures, as in days and days- the app has to be on and open when transferring photos, can not be closed or phone on sleep mode - pain- doesn’t get rid of dupes- doesn’t recognize and put your photos in the folders you had on your iphone- terrible search - the best way is to MANUALLY TYOE IN tags or descriptors and remember them for searching- when searching, or doing anything really, on the device, ITS SLOW Very slow. My network is fast, my router and device next to it and it’s so sloooooowoow. So much slow that I can’t see myself just sitting for hours to categorize many photos- the interface is clunky - every time you’re on advice it asks if you want to set up sharing -it’s like an annoying pop up. Let me TELL you when or if I’ll ever do that- there is no backup for this back up device so do NOT remove your photos. From their other locationsNet/Net since the software is basically slow and useless ( no face recognition for example) and clunky editing, I’d recommend Savin over $100 and just get an external drive and you can do the same thing by your self, or jus use Google cloud and back those up by using another free service, Amazon for example. I didn’t call tech support - what’s the point? Produce software is so poor and limited.I wish I didn’t throw the box out because I’d return it.

Easy set up, no phone cords required!
Originally bought by mistake, intended to return! But this item is very well made and ive been looking for a way to back up precious photos and videos in case we lose our phone and lose all those moments. With our first child only weeks away i need to be able to feel secure about keeping these pictures.ICLOUD and similar cloud storage was, at the time, all I could find while researching. Plug in storage devices as well were available, but i had bought 5 devices(ranging from 500gb to 2tb) before, 7 years ago, and now only 2 are able to be accessed. Losing all that data!If you do the math, most backup Cloud data can cost up to $10-20 a month if you plan on backing up more than one phone, most allow all the photos you want but little storage for videos. Over ONE year you have already paid for this device, and you know where those photos are.Functionality- bluetooth was easy to set up, registered my own account for my phone easily, as you can have multiple accounts for each phone so only you can access that data and your partner has her own that we can share in an open community section. Also, we can share photos with any other family member or tv if we choose too!

Third time’s a charm
I am very happy with my ibi after the third try.Bought this in December 2021. During setup, I got an error and couldn’t complete. Opened a ticket with Tech Support, waited several days. Received a bunch of troubleshooting tips. No luck. Waited several several days. Was advised to return the ibi to Amazon. In January 2022 I received my second ibi.During setup, I got an error and couldn’t complete. Opened a ticket with Tech Support, waited several days. Received a bunch of troubleshooting tips. No luck. Waited several days. Was advised to send ibi to SanDisk. In March of 2022 I received my third ibi. Everything works! We are a family of four with various iPhones. Each person is able to upload photos to his or her own library on the ibi or share photos as needed. No more issues with limited space or iCloud storage. Photo upload can be slow at times but no one complains.

Delivered with the wrong power pack so can not be used in Australia.
The power pack delivered with the photo manager has two parallel flat pins about 11 mm apart. The managers end has a small centre pin fitting into a largish recess. Different to the four types I have here. Could you please send me the correct power pack or a suitable adapter. Thank you, Arthur McConnell, Heidelberg, Victoria, Australia.

Great potential photo backup tool but fails miserably!
I bought this device with the best of intentions and it works well with most items, my phone and tablet but if you own an Apple iMac, best of luck with this device. After reinstalling my iMac operating system 2 times, followed by the worst customer service I ever experienced with SanDisk, I finally sent the ibi back. The Mac desktop app has 2 options to transfer files, a web browser that works fine and the Finder which would be most beneficial because of drag and drop. Unfortunately consistently after a few minutes over use each and every time, my computer would come to a dead stop only allowing me to power down using the button. I gave up on it.

Not so sure
I just got my iBi so I will change this review if I fix the problem... I have it on my Mac and an iPad. The app for the iPad quits on a regular basis. I have a large album of pictures from a trip to Greece. When I try and scroll through them, the app quits. I thought I was scrolling too fast but that was not the problem. Have a message in to their support, so we will see. Right now, good idea but sure not ready for prime time.
