Subterra Backpack 30L, Black

We bought one for travel and liked it so much we bought a second. The 30L is a just bit tight for under-seat airplane storage but we could squeeze it into place well enough and we were allowed to take it as a personal item on both US and international flights. Everything on this bag is of high quality. What we love most is the strap design. I have small shoulders and cannot keep some bags "on" easily. This bag not only stays on one or both shoulders but the structure of the bag nicely distributes weight across the back for easy carrying when full. This is not meant to be a hiking backpack so is not as light as some but it is a fine weight when put up against travel backpacks. Lighter than some Tumi backpacks and "almost" as nice. What I would change? I would love if the THULE logo were a bit smaller and I am not a fan of the blue interior (but it does make it easier to find items....and the blue is not visible when closed. I worried it was visible on the zipper but it very subtle and, again, not noticeable when closed). I might also blend the first two compartments for one bigger compartment but this is personal preference and use. All this aside, we did buy a second one because it was super functional, easy to carry, and made of high quality materials. Advice: I would try to avoid buying during travel season. We bought the first one for $130 and the second one (a week later) for $165. Supply and demand - sigh.

Looks great, ample storage pockets, comfortable when fully loaded, zippers feel solid, backpack feels well made and no signs of wear over the last 9 months despite daily use. I can't find anything to critique!

5 Years later, after consistent use and this still remains to be the best backpack I've ever had.

I used this backpack while traveling to carry my purse, my electronics, my personal items like jewelry. medications,make-up,hygiene items and my documents. I did not have to dig through this backpack like previous ones I've owned because this backpack's compartments are perfectly organized. I love how it has a strap that allows it to slide securely over the handle of my carry on suitcase. Also I like how it is longer and slimmer as opposed to the typical backpack which when filled up seems to stick out a mile! ( I hate that!) Yet though this backpack is much slimmer it holds just as much.( I like that!) And when worn is comfortable because it is well padded. Best backpack for traveling by air that I have ever owned. It does stick out just a teeny bit further when you place it under the seat while flying but not so far to be a problem . I highly recommend this backpack for air flights.

Feels durable and comfortable to wear. Only complaint is I wish it had more small inside pockets.

I travel a lot and this is a great backpack! Fits lots of item for a weekend away! Great dude compartment for laptop! Side pockets adjust and I love inside zip pocket for easy access. I even bought accessory bag to go with it! Love it as well

The feel of the bag is amazing and ver comfortable. Very good as a laptop backpack. Great for organising my cables, computer accessories and books.

After 4 years I bought a new backpack. I used to buy cheap ones, but now I decided to spend extra money for s better backpack. I don't regret! I use it everyday in the train, bus, bicycle, etc. The space it's good enough for a weekend trip. I wanted something with a few pockets only, and this model met my expectations. The material is sturdy, probably too much for some people, but it's what I was looking for. Durability for many years (I hope so).

This is The Best Backpack for the price point The category this backpack is in a higher tier factor Meaning youare getting an excellent packbacpack for its price point Very sturdy Very rugged Very well made Great design which makes it look good The same tier of backpack in terms of built quality would cost you twice the price if not more Author has had his for a good 3 years and lots and lots of heavy loads have gone in this bag and it has stood the test of time Highly recommend this backpack as it also very versatile you can carry many different types of gear into this and it will hold its own over time Not more to say then the bag is so good that author has purchased a second one before they become discontinued or models change Don't waste your money on lower cost backpacks that will not last as long and you will end up having to buy another over time If you want long term get this backpack you will not regret it Recommended !!!!

This is my son's second Thule backpack. Thule makes great products, very comfortable and lightweight. My boy loves it.
