cheaper on the eshop
I bought this digital code as a gift, then a copy directly off the eshop. (The eshop is only $30 so you save $10, I only paid the $40 since they don’t have gifting thru eshop that I know of, save your money if you can.) I used to play the GameCube version and enjoyed it. This version of Super Monkey Ball is more difficult than I remember the past versions being. This is probably due to the difficult added boss levels after finishing each world. Each one involves hitting a specific “button” on the bosses bodies which can lead to fall out if you’re not careful. I was expecting a casual game, and it can be, but it’s not a simple casual game that you can glide through. If you’re up for a challenge, you may like it. (To be far, it’s made with Unity which could be why the controls can be hard on occasion).I like the time attack and decathlon parts where you can compare times and scores with friends or people around the world. However, the party games are more difficult than before, but once you get used to it, it’s still enjoyable.Overall, I think I like it for nostalgia reasons. It’s fun, but can be hard to control. Buy it off the eshop to save money if you’re going digital.

Do not purchase!
This game is horrible. Do not buy. I grew up playing this on PlayStation so was very excited to buy this for my switch. The game is horribly designed and boring. The updates they made RUINED the game. Not worth $30. Such a waste.
