Why did you pick this product vs others?: We used this to cut 10" x 10" beams and it worked great once you get the feel for how to operate it, it plugs up if you try and cut to fast but it works great. Build quality: Excellent with oiler to keep chain lubed and sharp

Be aware that this is a man size saw! Yes it is large but very well made and has plenty of power! It comes with a neat storage cradle that you can set it down while using without damaging the chain. Highly recommend!

Suggestion to all who purchase this item, it cuts like a chain saw and is not good for dressed wood, it will splinter the wood.

Works perfect on 10 x 10 cedar

I purchased this saw for a timber frame pavilion I was building out of 8 by 8 yellow pine. I purchased this in order to make one clean square cut across the timber and to get away from my very heavy very old 16 inch circular beam saw. May I say, I was highly disappointed at my decision to purchase this saw. First, the wood shavings build up so bad around the chain making it nearly impossible to check and see if you are anywhere near a mark on a beam. Yes I could have hooked up a vacuum system to it, but that’s not feasible outside the shop. Secondly, the blade guide at the back of the chain continually stuck in the kirf of the cut usually resulting in a bad cut. Third and most disappointing was, I could never get the damn thing to make a square cut!!! Every cut was square at three corners of the beam, but the fourth corner, lower outside corner, cupped in toward the kept piece of material at least 3/16 of an inch as if the bar flexed resulting in an out of square end. Keep in mind, this is a new saw with a new chain so chain sharpness was not the cause of this. Far different results from the film of the guy on the video. If I had to do it over, I would not purchase this saw for use in any kind of accurate framing but purchase it for cutting firewood. Very bad decision on my part and I DO NOT recommend buying this saw.

This saw is designed great. As a professional carpenter, I need tools to help me save time while I'm working. This saw does exactly that. It also stays accurate. I was able to cut 7 treated 2x12 stair carriages at the same time. Afterwards, I held my square on the cut and it was perfectly square. It is still a chain saw, so if you expect a clean circular saw cut, you will be disappointed. It is not for finish carpentry. This was one of the best purchases I have made.

Worked great on some oak beams I used four the steps on our porch. I'm very happy with this and look forward to using it on other projects.

Didn’t cut straight at all, better using a gas chainsaw

La máquina está decente, pero no se puede usar porque la cadena se desafila muy rápido. Proponen una máquina de uso rudo en la cual puedes confiar, pero no están a la altura. Cuando digo muy rápido son unos 2 o 3 cortes y ya no sirve... A afilar y otro 2 o 3 cortes. No la recomiendo

We have used this saw to cut 8"x8" milled logs ends and timber beam roof systems. It has surpassed expectations and is more than worth the less than grand investment!
