Dreams Unreal: The Genesis of the Psychedelic Rock Poster Hardcover – January 15, 2020

I received my copy last night. This is an amazing compilation! I can’t believe how many color plates there are, especially at this price! So evocative of a lost art and different era. Every fan of the California 60s music scene should by this book. Truly fantastic!

Amazing add on for any nostalgic being

Another look at the multi-colored world of psychedelic posters. 95% of these have been seen elsewhere with better printing quality (The Art of Rock). My copy seemed to be put together rather hurriedly with untrimmed pages and binding glue scatter shot throughout.

It's a great book! Lots of big pictures of posters. Including posters by Wes Wilson who just passed away.

An excellent, bar-setting overview of the genre. The text is actually enjoyable to read, and provides novel insights about the era, the artists, and aesthetics of the posters. There are 200 full page, full color poster reproductions, plus some cool photographs, and they look amazing - the quality of the printing is top notch. It’s a big tome, too - you need a table to read it. For the price, this is an especially impressive effort. A must have for any fan, and a great intro for the novice.
