Great gift for anyone grieving a loss
As usual, CSFTS didn't disappoint. And this book has given me something truly great to be able to gift to anyone who has lost someone. When I thought nothing could console me after the loss of my mother, THIS did. It surprised me. I cried A LOT of tears reading these stories. Tears that needed to be shed in a safe and helpful way, as we all know pent up grief can be expelled in some of the worst ways, if not released properly. These stories, reading them, crying out my emotions to them ... they helped me from continuing a path of self destruction over the loss of my Mom. For that, I am forever grateful to have had them cross my path.

Excellent Stories About Seeking Happiness
I always say that you can't go wrong with Chicken Soup. I don't think I will ever give one of these books less than four stars. This is another one that is so filled with wisdom and inspiration that I was looking forward each day to reading more stories. Many people had to climb the ladder of success in order to achieve happiness. They had to get more education and training. Others had to downsize. They already had degrees and high-powered careers, but they weren't happy. Sometimes that six-letter word, stress, was slowly killing them. One became a full-time stay-at-home mom and found that PB and jelly with her kids beat luncheons with executives. One went from management to administrative work as an executive secretary and was so much happier. Many people came to realize that managing with less money wasn't a hardship if they had less stress and more peace in their lives.Others had handicaps or illnesses that they needed to accept. One blind woman made such a beautiful life for herself that a cure for her blindness wasn't the end-all and be-all of her existence anymore. As usual, I was truly moved and astounded by so many of these stories. Others were pleasant stories, but they didn't have the power to really move me to a great degree. This is a matter of personal taste I'm sure. But I had to take a star off because of the stories that didn't have the punch that I've learned to expect--the stories that move me to tears or really amaze me with their wisdom and beauty. It's a wonderful book for the bedside--sure to relax you and give you hope. By the way, I know that some people can be turned off by stories about people who leave perfectly good jobs to find a more peaceful existence. People can't always leave their jobs, but I seem to remember that there were some good ideas here for making the most of leisure time or achieving some balance in life. One story is even about the joy of having a box of chocolates all to yourself--loved that one!

Entertaining, Inspiring, Excellent
This series has always been a favorite of mine. No matter what the subject matter is, the Chicken Soup books always take a nice relaxing, entertaining, and often humorous approach in keeping even deeply emotional matters light. While all the time inspiring one to new heights and achievements in various subjects. Chicken Soup books take their subjects very seriously, but just have a way of relaxing the reader and allowing them the feeling of truly being helped. This latest book in my collection is no different in being very well written, and, keeping it real and simple in its retelling of inspirational tales of success for a number of people in very different fields. It's quickly become one of my true favorites among the entire series. Chicken Soup books never come off as preachy to me, or feel like I am in a doctors office paying some outrageous fee for advice. They always go over with me as a long, detailed, and very deeply absorbed talk with a very wise old friend, or even a session with a number of them from all walks and times in my life. In short, they fit me and leave me truly feeling better about myself, and my chances or circumstances, whatever they may be. I honestly think anyone reading this book will feel better about themselves as well, and where they are going, even if they feel they have already arrived and done the best they can. A real winner. Try it, and enjoy the happiness..: )

I stopped reading this book right before the mid point because it had become so uninteresting. I believe in the afterlife. I am not a skeptic. Although a couple of stories were inspirational, I found all the others to be somewhat silly, often featuring the appearance of a butterfly, bird or even a fly (in one story) as purported evidence of the supernatural. In other stories psychics and mediums are glorified, rather than portrayed as the unscrupulous frauds that they are.

Communications from the Other Side
Another fabulous chicken soup book. Do you know how sometimes non-believers in an afterlife will say, "I don't know anyone who has ever received postcards from the other side." Well, if you read this book the communications with those who have departed this earth will leave you breathless. I would read them before going to sleep at night--often I become bored with what I'm reading and my book will put me to sleep. But this one just grabbed me and the stories are addictive. I'd say to myself, "Just one more and then I'll go to sleep." It's such comforting, reassuring bedtime reading. And yet the stories are exciting. I occasionally got goosebumps. These stories made me ponder the events that occurred after the death of a couple of my family members, and I came to the realization that they truly were miracles. Great book!

Love never dies
even though it reminds you that people do indeed die, it also helps you remember that death is not the end, it's just a beginning of something different. Love never dies :)
