Have the proper shower valve socket wrench before attempting replacement.
This cartridge fit our Grohe bathroom faucet and functions perfectly. The sleeve that comes with it didn't fit, but the cartridge itself works fine inside the original sleeve. I proactively purchased a set of different size shower valve socket wrenches to be able to properly remove & replace the retaining ring that secures the cartridge. It can be quite a task researching/locating the proper replacement cartridge for older Grohe faucets (there are SO MANY different models that can look similar); but it is worth the effort to continue using existing Grohe faucets. They are among the best. Ours were installed in 1994 and they all still work great.

Grohe Parkfield Kitchen Faucet
This Cartridge replaced the original on a Grohe Parkfield Kitchen Faucet, Model #30-213. The faucet was installed in October 2017. We started noticing a leak at the base where it meets the countertop, and around the bottom of the handle. The leak would then flow to the inside of the cabinet below the sink, making a mess. I replaced the original cartridge with this one, and no more leaks. It was easy to do. After removing the Handle, You could see a water stain inside there, which proved that the Cartridge was leaking. You may want to remove just Your Handle and look inside there, to prove the Cartridge bad. After seeing a few Videos on YouTube, and the MFR Website, it appeared to be easy to replace. I also looked at the MFR's instructions that came with the replacement. They all stated that You need a 32MM socket to remove the cartridge. You do. That is a large socket for those that may not be aware. I had one already...being a retired Mechanic. A regular Mechanic type socket will work...no need for a Special Plumbing socket. You can also use a 1 1/4" socket as well. I would recommend using a 6-point socket, vs. a 12-point socket. But either should work. I will also point out that sockets these sizes, generally require a 1/2" Drive Ratchet, which many may not have in a home toolbox. If that is the case, a 3/8" to 1/2" Drive Adapter is available at just about any place that sells tools for just a few bucks. As well as the needed sockets, if You don't have one. It is very important to make certain that the New Cartridge lines up correctly inside the faucet. Look at the holes inside the faucet and look at the cartridge. You will see how it should line up, and the numbers on the Cartridge should be close to the top, as You look down. It's not hard at all. If this faucet hangs around our kitchen for a while, I figure that the Cartridge will need replacing approx. every 4-5 years. Maybe sooner...We shall see. Don't Forget to Turn the Water Off

Some difficulty
Watch the video for this part installation plus look at a few YouTubes. The enclosed instructions were of no value to me. The handle set screw can be frozen plus the handle can be frozen to the assembly. I had to hard tap the handle loose from the assembly but it worked fine after cleaning. I used a six point 32 mm socket ordered from Amazon for the nut removal. Read the reviews to learn where others had problems such as the small silicone seal rings. It took me three tries to get it to work mostly because of losing alignment while starting the cartridge nut. I could not get the nut started with my fingers as shown in the video but got it started by gently hand tightening with the socket before inserting the socket handle.

Don’t buy, change faucet and brand instead!
This is a terrible product. The user manual is very poorly designed. There isnt a single sentence with any kind of understandable syntax or grammar. Cartridges come with a lot of extra stuff like a plastic sleeve and a bunch of O rings with no clear use. The plastic sleeve comes in one piece tied to the hex nut but the whole thing being plastic means the nut is frail and slips inside the 32 mil socket and loses grip very rapidly. After battling for hours with the whole thing I gave up and put the old metal sleeve back. It also comes with an option to limit the range of the handle. The problem is that it is very poorly explained, there is the diagram of a plant or factory on the manual which I imagine after scratching my head that it means that if you’re gonna use this in a work environment you want to ban the possibility to use hot water or you want to limit how hot it can get. This thing is so unclear that you realise the mess after having put everything back together so you have to undo your hard work, unscrew the hex, take the cartridge out, and remove the blocker. By the way, this is all very flimsy. The new cartridges are nowhere as sturdy as the old ones. It’s a terrible product I do not recommend buying it. I recommend replacing your Grohe faucet with a different brand. That’s the best decision you’ll make. I tried to limit cost by doing a DIY replacement of the cartridge. As a result, my faucet has a lot of scratches, the chrome has been chipped out because everything was so stuck and hard to undo and even put back that my pincer and wrench left marks. The end state is there is maybe a third of the original pressure in my faucet and I struggle to understand why. The new cartridge comes with a little dented kind of broom inside the passage. It is completely unclear what the purpose of this thing is. Overall, it’s a huge disappointment and a lot of waste of time and money. This cartridge costs a lot of money for terrible, terrible results. This product is appalling.

Excellent OEM Product
Works for my K4 single handle Grohe Kitchen faucet. However, Must be careful not to use a regular 32mm Socket to try and get the K4 Cartridge retaining ring out. It is metal and a regular 32mm socket with chamferred designmay round the corners while trying to get retaining ring out. Also best to use some CRC penetrant solvent before attempting to remove. Found best tool for the job is following: Faithfull FAISPBOX2732 Tap Backnut Spanner 27 x 32 mm, Tommy Bar$20 on Amazon. The retaining ring which comes with the Grohe replacement cartridge is plastic. Works Better if you reuse the old metal one I found.

It worked but it took a few tries.
It worked!!!! The installation can be confusing because the instructions are only pictures with little to no text. I had to try a few time, using different combinations of things to get it to work without leaking but eventually by just using the cartridge and the old mounting bolt, it all came together. Was not easy to put in.

More difficult to install than it should be
My home came with several Grohe fixtures, two of which I have had to perform maintenance on because of leaks. Grohe customer support has been helpful to identify the model and the required part(s). The experience from there has been subpar for me. I bought this part for a leaky bathroom faucet. As others have stated, the instructions are atrocious. You need a 32mm socket to remove and install the original part. That is not something your average consumer owns. If you want to pay about the same as this part (~$60) you can buy Grohe's socket. That is an outrageous cost considering you can buy a 32mm socket to use with a 1/2 ratchet for under $15. In any event, to make matters worse, as others have mentioned the black threaded outside plastic ring has a crusty blue green substance in the thread, presumably to prevent leaks, but makes screwing this in potentially impossible. The lip for the 32mm socket to seat is small and plastic. With the gunk in there it was so difficult to screw in I was starting to round the edges of the plastic fastener. Worried I'd round it out and never be able to get it removed if I ever had to take it apart again for another leak I used the original metal fastener instead. Despite seating everything multiple times and following the terrible directions the faucet handle still sticks up slightly above where it should so I am not sure if there is a slight fitment issue. Either way the part is installed and I have had no issues so far. Based on my experience with repairing Grohe, if I ever need to purchase a faucet, I'd try another brand.

Very good!
It fits the Grohe Torso single-handle basin faucet perfectly. The water leakage problem under the handle has been resolved. For installation, a 32mm long hex socket is required. I recommend it to others.

good product
The cartilage is a good replacement and works well. The plastic ring did not work for me well. Very finicky and difficult to use. I end up using the original copper ring and the metal bolt. I do recommend the cartilage!
