Great budget Tactical EDC knife (Good Value buy)
Overall Impression:A good Tactical/EDC knife for the price. I strongly suggest getting one for EDC and/or for a collection. I don’t think this knife will disappoint. Rarely have I seen a “Tactical” knife fit for EDC use. Typically, tac knives are not great at EDC use, or an EDC knife will be touched up to make it more tactical, but this knife really fits the bill as an effective Tac/EDC knife. The ergonomics are good for use with wet/dry hands, bare/gloved hands, and over/under handed grip. The blade geometry lends itself to deep cutting and effective piercing. I would personally call this a modified broken-back folding Seax, which historically was an EDC knife and battlefield weapon. As of this review, this knife is my preferred EDC blade and has impressed me enough to buy a few more to just have in the wings. As is, I think this a good knife for the price and with a few mods (better steel, metal back spacer, and better washers) I would happily pay three to four times the listed price.Detailed Observations:There are a lot of features that make this knife a solid Tactical knife fit for EDC use. The blade shape with its slightly curved belly and modified Wharncliffe tip makes it equally efficient at cutting and piercing. The handle is large and ergonomic for comfort and utility with both bare and gloved hands. The blade can be easily deployed one handed, even when wearing heavy leather work gloves. (A note of caution. Even though the blade is biased to the closed position, a flick or whip of the wrist in almost any direction will deploy the blade without having to fist pop the blade with a thumb or finger. Additionally, the way the top of the blade is near the thumb studs, allows for the blade to be deployed rapidly out of the pocket as if using an “Emmerson Wave” feature. This works about 90% of the time depending on the type of pocket/pants one is wearing. So far works consistently with most jeans, shorts, casual pants, and sweat pants.)This is a large and intimidating knife, so be warned, it may be considered aggressive or off-putting to some people, but its size is what helps to make it an effective Tactical/EDC knife. The back spacer is some kind of plastic, and the washers are plastic or nylon as well. The point of balance of the knife is about the middle of the front finger choil.Initially, the blade came with a little side to side wiggle, but taking a moment to tighten up all the screws on the knife helped a bunch. There is still a very slight side-to-side play, but it’s no worse than the wiggle on my Benchmade and Spyderco folders. Likewise, the pocket clip was a little loose initially, but the screws tightened right up and remain tight. Unlike other knives, the screws are not totally gummed up with locktite, making breakdown of the knife possible without stripping the screwheads or the screwdriver. The lockup on the blade is tight and I trust the type of lock for even the heaviest use. While I can’t be certain that the blade type is 8cr14 as claimed, after doing some cutting tests and light/medium use, I can say that it performs as well as my Kershaw knives with the same steel. The blade came razor sharp out of the box. Like other 8cr14 blades, the razor-sharp edge went away quickly with light use, but the knife remained functionally sharp even after moderate use on heavy cardboard, heavy canvas, wood, and meat. With a few passes over some sharpening rods and a good finishing strop, the blade was shaving sharp again. I like this steel for its ability to keep a functionally sharp edge for a decent amount of use and for its ability to sharpen up quickly with little effort. However, if I planned on hard cutting or prolonged use, I would carry a pocket sharpener for touch-ups.

what utterly shocked by the quality feel and overall action
For the price I expected nothing close to what I received honestly, smooth, fairly fast opening and sharp out of the box. This knife feels like a 70-80 dollar knife honestly, not disappointed in any way with this purchase will use this knife for the glove box/center console when in a pinch for a knife.

S-TEC... Stays Sharp with this qualitu folder...
Choosing a knife for me is a long process. I look over a group; put some that I think would fit my wants/needs on a list, and come back to review them several times. After research; viewing others feedback, then more research I make a decision to pass or purchase. This process for me takes quite awhile. That being said, I purchased a fixed blade from S-TEC before and it did not disappoint. Like their fixed blade, this foldable is a beast! Large enough to handle self defensive applications yet small enough to EDC. The workmanship and fitment of this knife makes me want to purchase another so I can carry one EDC and enjoy one in my collection! What really impressed me was the AXIS blade lock/opening system. A Benchmade feature, but placed on a much more reasonably priced product. Blade is super sharp right out of the box; yes, it is made overseas, but as I have shown in many prior posts, overseas materials and manufacturing methods are rapidly evolving to new and great levels. If you're looking for a great knife for EDC that is well worth over what S-TEC is charging, but don't want to spend half a pay check on a name brand that has many if not all their models manufactured overseas but "assembled in the USA" at ridiculous prices based on a name, then this one's for you!

SHARP
I mean is it even a new knife if you don't cut yourself? However, I'm a bit agitated about the cut. It wasn't due to negligence, the knife opened in my pocket and I reached in to get something and I cut my finger to the bone. Barely knew it happened because it's so sharp. I feel like there needs to be a safety on this particular knife if it's going to do something like that

Good knife
I love this knife. Its really sharp and well made. The only thing that I didn't like was the tip on the clip it kept getting stuck on things when I got close. Easy fix just bend the tip back with some pliers.

Not bad for the price
Tough knife. I like the knife but I knocked 2 stars for the lock rock it has. It does feel the rock is coming from the pivot. Great beater knife

An axis lock at this price, YES!
The grip of the knife is excellent, it has a wonderful axis lock, and comes with a well sharpened edge (which obviously can be honed if you have the desire to). I am extremely happy with the build quality for the price and highly recommend this knife.
