Plugs for my 09 Explorer
These are the spark plugs to use for your 4th Gen Ford Explorer. I remember getting some Bosch thinking that they were going to work better. But it started running kind of funny, a little misfire. After that I just thought I’m getting what I’m supposed to get just a good old regular Motorcraft copper plugs that’s it. I ordered 6 sp421 and installed them. The car ran great.

Can not go wrong with motorcraft
I like to stick with the trusted brand i have been using for years. Motorcraft is one that stands behind there products. i have yet to get a bad part from them. the best part is it is half the price of the stealership or local parts houses.

Don’t order from Amazon...
Motor craft Sparkplugs are excellent! Mine lasted well over 100,000 miles with great performance in my Mustang. I would definitely recommend them.... just don’t order them from Amazon 🤨... as you can see from the photo they arrived with two boxes a little crushed and one completely out of the box. They had no bubble wrap or paper around them inside the shipper. Not acceptable!

Warning Spark Plugs cracked
Changed out plugs and wires on my 2006 Ford explorer v6 4.0L. about a week after the truck spuddered, thinking it was the transmission I took action to correct it. Drove it occasionally and had no real issue until last week when the spudder came back and it c back hard. Then came a check engine light that said misfire on cylinder#3 pulled out the spark plug and the porcelain was split and cracked in 3 different spots. shotty plugs, so beware of you have a misfire after installing these plugs.

Was getting around 8 MPG - will be interesting to see how much the mileage improves - I expect 5 MPG or better improvement
2006 Mountaineer 4.0 has not ran correctly since we bought it around 6-7 years ago....Decided to pull a spark plug recently due to especially rough running and smelly exhaust - was shocked to find Bosch Platinum +2 plugs - replaced with these MC plugs and the vehicle has never ran smoother. Was getting around 8 MPG - will be interesting to see how much the mileage improves - I expect 5 MPG or better improvement
