So far so good....but you have to make sure you match the part number correctly!!!
I own a Mitsubishi WD-65738 65-Inch 3D DLP HDTV which I purchased in 2011. (The TV was manufactured in 2010). I never had a problem of any sort until August 2014 when the lamp started to dim greatly.I bought this replacment lamp, making sure that the part number matched what my TV required (I notice that many people in the reviews were not making the numbers!)The part arrived (on time) on September 12 2014, and as of this review on September 17th, five days later, everything is still fine and the picture on the TV is beautiful. The reviews out there are hit and miss...BUT...I noticed that in a lot of the negative ones, it appeared that the replacement part did not truly match their TV!I will keep you posted, but so far, I am satisfied!!(I bought two lamps just in case!)**UPDATE**My replacement lamp finally started to fade the 1st week of December. When factoring usage, I got most of September out of it, October, November, and the first week of December. Not bad, for the price. I purchased two, so I had my replacement lamp ready to go. It's 12-15-2014 and so far so good. To have "a back up" ready, I purchased a 3rd lamp.

I felt like any more force would have damaged the TV
This bulb would not fit my Mitsubishi WD-65638 TV. It looked the right shape and size to fit, but it would not seat all the way into the TV so some measurement must have been off. I only used a reasonable amount of force (10 different times) and tried to move it every direction to get it in, and nothing worked. I felt like any more force would have damaged the TV.I also observed that the bulb inside the housing was not very well attached and was even at an angle and may not have worked well if it had fit my TV. It was missing a metal retaining piece on one side of the bulb that was present on the OEM one that I was trying to replace.I returned this for a full refund and free return shipping, so Amazon was great about accepting it back.I ended up just buying the Osram bare bulb that was an exact OEM replacement and it worked great. I did have to disassemble the housing and reuse it for the bare bulb, but in my opinion it was easy, but did take a little time and some gloves so you did not touch the bulb.

Awesome! (maybe)
Because of the bad reviews I'd read about this product, I waited 6 months to write this review. My TV is still working great after 6 months, and it was WAY cheaper then purchasing through Mitsubishi.I highly recommend!*****UPDATE*****The lamp lasted just over 3 years, I believe I got my moneys worth on this. Unfortunately, the new lamp I just ordered, only lasted 5 days before it started over heating after only 1 hour. I tried to write a separate review for the new lamp, Amazon won't let me. So I'm dropping this review from a 5 star to a 3 star. I am returning the second lamp and ordering a 3rd one. If it doesn't last at least 1 year I will drop my rating to 1 star, if it does last 1 year or more I will raise my rating back to a 5 star.

TV lamp so far so good
Received new lamp today, was easy to install and so far is working great, we didn't have to do a reset on our tv like others have stated. I knew our old lamp had been getting duller over the last year but I did not realize just how dull until we put the new bulb in, We had to turn the brightness down to around 50%!! Hopefully this lamp will last as long as our original, but with past experience with projection tv's I will be happy with 1 year!! In the past I had paid $100-150 for a replacement but at this price I will go ahead and order another one to keep as a spare!! Oh and one more thing, the packaging was excellent, it came in a small box that was wrapped in bubble wrap and in a larger box, they seemed to take great care in making sure any bump along the way would be fully protected against, in the past when I had ordered from other web sites the packaging was not as good.

You're Better Off Getting the More Expensive Factory Part
I did my homework and this is indeed the correct housing model for my TV. It didn't fit. The screws that hold the housing down were not long enough to reach the threading. I ended up having to go to the hardware store and finding very skinny, longer screws to use instead. Luckily, those worked. The TV came back to life once it was installed and I was very thrilled HOWEVER there is a very concerning "burning" smell during TV operation. Within about 30 minutes of it being on, the whole room will smell like burning plastic. I'll update maybe in a month to see if it goes away but so far so bad.

Worst Purchase Ever!!
Was very excited about finding the part I needed and at an unbeatable price, until I got it home and tried it out! Product arrived in a timely manner, well packaged and in excellent condition. Which is the only reason I rated it one star. With the assistance of a friend, the part was removed from package and installed in the TV. Just as numerous previous reviews explained - then began the disappointing experience. When the lamp heated it, it REALLY HEATED up. Instantly, a blinking screen and dark, dull colors flooded the picture. Then 60 seconds later (yes just one minute) the TV shut off. Decided maybe it wasn't installed completely right and decided to remove and replace. Second time around - we hit the jackpot (or so we thought)!! For all of another 60 seconds, there was the most beautiful, bright, colorful picture the TV had ever shown in the 3 years I've owned it. Then one very loud popping sound the bulb completed blew out and of course the TV immediately shut off. Unbelievable, that Amazon would continue to sell such faulty product. Please, please, please read all the negative reviews and DO NOT PURCHASE this item. Always remember, you get what you pay for. Needless to say, I've requested a full refund and will spend the extra money to purchase the manufacture's part instead.

Great light but screws too short!
This replacement lamp worked great finally. When inserting the bulb into the back of the TV the old (original) light-housing would give a 'click' when in place. This bulb didn't give that little 'click' so we weren't sure at first that it was fitting properly, but it does. The only problem we encountered is that the screws that came with the new housing were too short. We had to use the screws from the old original housing. But other than that, it seems to be a great lamp at a great price. Recommended!!
