The quality of the dual-sided office desk pad is really good on both sides and it comes in a nice package. The stitchings are also done very well. The size is perfect for having a keyboard and mouse. It also serves as a great surface for writing. The only minor downside (nothing major) is that the long side edges on the leather side flare upward ever so slightly; they don't sit completely flat on the desk. However, on the cork side, all side edges sit flatly on the desk. It is very minor and definitely not a deal-breaker.

I was skeptical purchasing a desk mat—especially one rolled up in a tube—from Amazon. Many competing products—and even other products by Aothia—have negative reviews indicating that the desk mat refuses to lay flat or otherwise sports product quality control issues.This product here that I purchased seems great. Perhaps because it's heavier than some other products on Amazon, I find that it lays mostly flat on my desk with not edges curling up. There is one side of the mat that still has a bit of a rounding to it, but I have mounted the mat to my desk using 3M acryllic double-sided mounting tape. This ... mat isn't going anywhere now and now is completely flush.The curving of the mat is not that concerning, but do expect some shape deformity at least until it relaxes a bit. If you're that anal (like me), just mount it to your desk with tape to ensure a flush experience.Overall I'm very happy with the purchase! This product is made in China.

It's a nice entry level desk mat for those looking for a leather/leather-esque design. I bought this to compliment my study. I looked at a lot of other ones that were otherwise wildly too expensive or cheap in make. This one is decently thick(I would've preferred something more plush but alas, writers can't be choosers), it doesnt shift around too much, and the stitching is nice.One point of note is that the edges DO curl a bit at the ends. I'm using a heavy set of files and other heavy objects to press it down to keep it flat. One side has bowed to the will of heavy books and paperweights, but alas the right side is still putting up a bit of resistance. I imagine that in time itll even itself out. I would've also liked for the grain to be a bit closer textured and softer, but this is fake leather so I know that's hard to do. No poor or off smells with this either which is nice.

The product arrived in surprisingly nice packaging - it was rolled in a sturdy tissue paper inside a very nice custom, high-quality cardboard tube. The pad does a very good job of simulating real leather with a convincing texture, grain, and color variance. The stitching around the edge appears pristine with no blemishes or loose threads. The cork bottom is smooth and sticks well to the desk surface.One thing to note is that it definitively doesn't lay flat when first unpacked and you will need to lay some books or other flat, heavy objects on it to smooth it out. You can see in one of my attached photos that I still need to flatten mine more, but I was able to get all the other 3 corners to flatten out and lay smooth so it won't be an issue.

I have had many, many office desk mats over the years and this one is the best for the price and quality. Can you buy one made of real leather instead? ~ sure, and pay $90-$120 more. Is the PU Leather of good quality ~ yes. Is the cork good quality? ~ yes. Does the mat look cheap? ~ NO. Curl? yeah, all mats do, take the few minutes necessary to "break it in" by reversing it and gently rolling it up and across the desk surface 6 - 12 times. This mat stays in place where other mats slide from simple pressure of writing or bumping the surface. This version is the " Updated" and the leather surface is stitched through the cork surface, providing even greater durability and less curl than the first version. (FYI ~ the first version sold for about $15 is an excellent mat for shoe shining, delicate home repair projects, etc.).A note on the packaging ~ This Company cares about how its product gets to you: It comes in a solid, large diameter cardboard (why important? The large diameter tube reduces curl and crimping in the mat).The only thing, in my opinion, that would make this mat "better", is if it came a few more sizes (e.g., 24 inches x 12 inches or 36 inches x 17).

*Update: It curls :( after a year of use or so it curled like the other reported, it's still usable but I am taking a star away for lack of durability.This was a third of the price of genuine leather and protects my desk and serves as a mousepad (mouse easily and accurately glides). It is the right amount of space for a keyboard and mouse, I do have some coasters for drinks. I placed some heavy items flattened the edges over the weekend. It looks upscale and feels nice to rest on. I'm really happy I bought this piece.

The look and feel of this desk pad far exceed what I expected based on the very reasonable price! I chose the brown color, and it looks like a beautiful stitched leather, it's slim and with the cork back it doesn't slide around at all. It's surprisingly soft & comfortable. Mine came in a small cardboard tube rolled up, and when I go it, I just pulled it out, unrolled it and re-rolled it in the opposite direction, placed it back in the tube for about an hour or so, and it's laid almost perfectly flat ever since. 5 stars +, a great purchase.

This is one of the best purchases I have ever made with Amazon, as this product is perfect! It looks very classy and no odor whatsoever. Also, thank you to the reviewer that suggested taking the mat out of its cylinder and then wrapping the mat opposite the way it arrived and then put it back into cylinder for a few hours. This was a GREAT tip that worked perfectly. When I took the mat back out of the cylinder, all the edges laid flat perfectly, again, thank you for that wonderful tip. This truly is an exceptional product, and it exceeded my expectations in many ways.
