Did not work.
Apparently, there are different chips which provide remote access to various features. My doors would not unlock or lock using the key fob although it started the car.

Do not lose the packaging
Unfortunately, I threw out the package that contained a code to program the key and I was not able to program the key at a locksmith. Wasted the cost of two keys.

Took to a dealer to get programmed, couldn’t program it. Do not buy this product

Did not work as advertised
The fob did not work for our Volvo S-40 2009 car. We had to purchase one that did work from the Volvo dealership and pay to have it programmed to work for our car.

Good key but not for our 2008 Volvo
It looked like the right key but it wasn't when we took it to the dealership to program it. They were very nice and exchanged it for us.

Says it will work with my Volvo 540 (2008)- but ...
Says it will work with my Volvo 540 (2008)- but it didn't. I even gave them my VIN number. Had to return. Still waiting for a refund.
