Egypt 12 (Lonely Planet)

Really good tour book for Egypt. Lots of information. Seems odd reading a book now, the Kindle is quicker, but I needed a "hard copy."

I always appreciate the straightforward style of Lonely Planet Guides. This thoughtful, thorough guide has been recently updated and addresses the ongoing tensions and safety issues in Egypt and surrounding countries. Its detailed recommendations for sightseeing, attractions and hotels are topnotch and I feel assured that my upcoming group tour will be truly exciting and safe.

I was looking for the most recent book published on Egypt travel and this was it. The book was helpful, but the one thing it left out was how FRIENDLY Egyptians are. So friendly, and not as conservative as it seemed they would be from this book.

Great resource. It told us everything we needed to know about Egypt. It added to our enjoyment of Egypt. Very comprehensive.

Excellent guidebook with great pictures. Though we had a guide it’s good to get some background before you go

This book provided us with very helpful information. We used it throughout our Egyptian survey.

Good reference book. I used it in Abu Simbel, Aswan, Luxor, Cairo, Giza and Alexandria

Explainations of places, how to get there and what to expect were clear and informative. Lonely Planet travel guides are a must for anyone contemplating a trip...even if you been to a destination before, the insights given the guides are helpful and you will always learn something new.

O livro é útil, mas em algumas parte parece-me que o(s) autor(es) não viveu(ram) a experiência in loco. Por exemplo, afirmam que é tranquilo uma mulher (estrangeira) andar sozinha no Cairo, quando isso é absolutamente não recomendado por causa do assédio e ações mais graves. Do mesmo modo, a cidade tem índices de violência maiores do que o texto nos faz supor. De qualquer modo, vale como uma ajuda útil para quem estiver planejando uma viagem ao Egito. Lonely Planet tem excelente qualidade em suas publicações.

Very descriptive, clear and concise. Tips on how best to see the sites, and key areas to see if you have time constraints. Food and lodging suggestions were very helpful. Covered it all including language and culture tips. Was very useful!

Waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Travel Guide, allerdings muss ich gestehen, dass wir Ihn für den kurzen Aufenthalt in Kairo kaum genutzt haben, da der Travel Guide über komplett Ägypten ist und wir bei Freunden zu Besuch waren, die quasi unser "Travel Guide" gewesen sind. Aber ich bin grundsätzlich immer sehr zufrieden mit den Lonely Planet Guides, daher - wie immer - gute Bewertung!!
