Yes nothing else to buy except hairspray. I watched it in action on YouTube and bought some Final Net Hairspray. some small assembly required for the sparking mechanism. works great

What is this powered by do I have to spray hairspray in it?

I use Arrid Extra-Extra dry deodorant so it only leaves a power inside instead of burnt hair spray that turns into glue.

Is this thing safe? if it uses a combustable and ignites internally is there any potential for failure? (aka it explodes in your hands)

i have recently purchased one for my dog and besides the problems with the igniter being less than perfect(not a safety issue), the best answer I can think of is the Canon is as safe as you choose to make it. Treat it like a weapon. Don't look down the barrel of a loaded handgun, don't play with guns after or while drinking alcohol, know what you are doing before you do it, if not ask the advice of a responsible adult. It hasn't exploded in my hands yet.
