Best of Bryan Ferry

I lived through Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music's heyday from the seventies onwards. Some of the songs show their age, as do the videos, but the great majority show how inventive, original and bold an artist Ferry was and is. The video for Limbo quite literally still knocks my socks off (Australian expression). The video for Let's Stick Together is a classic. A pity the video does not appear to have been digitally remastered in some instances. However the collection of songs are outstanding. Whoever directed the videos such as Limbo and Don't Stop the Dance, for example, also deserves a gong. The women featuring, despite the 80s clothes, hairstyles and dance moves, are stunning. It certainly got my heart started. A reminder of what remarkable artists Ferry and his colaborators including Brian Eno were and are, when artists lived up to the title and were innovative, imaginative and truly original rather than resorting to off-screen and off-mike outrageous and appalling behaviour to maintain public interest. Ferry reminds us what it truly takes to 'make it' and be a genuine star. Sorry about the epistle but I like to compare what we have now to what we had then - perhaps I'm just getting old....

Glad I found a Bryan Ferry video collection. I waited too long for this one. Though it doesn't cover his more recent albums, it's still a fine collection of his early solo hits , 1982 to 2009. Love the videos for his mid 80s LPs- Boys and Girls and Bete Noire. I highly recommend. Audio and video is excellent.

I really enjoyed these Bryan Ferry CD’s. They do a good job at covering his extensive career as a solo performer. I saw him at United Palace in NYC last August. He performed some of these songs.

Extremely disappointed with this product! This is a two disc set and one disc (the black one) WILL NOT PLAY! I use the same player for both discs.. the white disc plays, the black one will not play. It automatically ejects, no matter which player l try.

Whilst a lot of my musical tastes have changed during the five decades that I have been on this spinning planet the one mainstay from my youth to present day has been Bryan Ferry. This is not just because of his own brilliant compositions but because of the interpretations of others that often he has improved upon. Without Bryan I probably would never have listened to other artists such as Dylan, or explore the joys of jazz and blues.The dvd disc is a reminder that the videos feature an outstanding iconic performer who in my opinion, has been well ahead of his peers in song and style. You can always think of more tracks to add to the disc but this is a very generous offering - a musical and visual delight.My above comments equally apply to the cd, so many great recordings here and others that are not. But this is a great package to own.I highly recommend this cd/dvd collection and would also recommend the Ferry and Roxy Music 3 disc "Platinum Collection" for those who want more great songs from the master of cool.
