The essence of Christmas
Most holiday movies work on making kids believe in Santa, this story references Santa - even the Whos in Whoville believe in Santa - but the point of this story is that the holiday is about love, about families and friends sharing time together and being happy. It tells the story through the eyes of the Grinch who can't bear to see others happy because he himself is not...as the fantastic soundtrack says..."he has garlic in his soul!" His transformation is wonderful for kids and adults and now as an adult, i look forward to watching this one every year at least as much as i did when i was a kid.

Chuck Jones and Boris Karloff - Do the Whose - An English Perspective
Need I say more? Dr. Seuss, directed by Chuck Jones and narrated by Boris Karloff! It is a faithful re-telling of Dr. Seuss's classic story that copies the art and most importantly retains the word play. It even has some good songs if you like that kind of thing! The Grinch, bitter and selfish steals Christmas away from the Whose. Disguising himself as Santa, he sneaks down to the Whose to take everything Christmassy, and everything else. But will that stop Christmas? Is he beyond enjoying the season himself? What happens when little Cindy Loo Who, who returns his spiteful act with an act of kindness itself...If your only point of reference is the recent film (never mind) this is much (much) better. Who can fail to love the Cat in the Hat; the way this is presented...This disc also includes another cartoon (by the same team) from a Dr. Seuss book, Horton Hears a Who, which is due for cinema release soon...

This Version Of Dr Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas Is Awesome
This is the Original 1966 animation film of Dr Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas DVD. This is first class, and is made even better, by have Boris Karloff doing the voice of the Grinch also doing narrative of the story.I recommend this dvd to all Dr Seuss' fans and Grinch fans alike.Edward Phillips

Just the classic I remember from childhood!
After hunting around for this for quite some time, I was glad not to find the terrible Jim Carrey adaptation and to come across this one for Region 2. It's exactly what I wanted to share with my friends before we broke up for the Christmas break and with my sisters right before Christmas eve - and I definitely plan to come back to it again when the festive season begins next year.(Nostalgia aside, it DOESN'T have Jim Carrey in it, which might be the biggest plus of the entire product! {especially after all of my friends only connected the film to the terrible remake})

Grinch in wrong colour
The Grinch is 'mean' and 'green', at least that's how Dr. Seuss describes him.Why is he totally 'yellow' on this DVD? I compared this with the US DVD and blu-ray.These correctly reproduce the character in 'green'.What happened during the mastering of the Code 2 DVD?Since I bought this DVD especially because of the German soundtrack, I am now totally frustrated. Has anyone had similar experiences?
