Does this have a chemical scent? I ordered some previously and the smell was extremely toxic.

The ones I received did not have a chemical odor.

How would these be for a blue tree?

Personally, I think they’d look beautiful on a blue tree.

Does the glitter make a mess?

nope. not messy. glitter is on there real good. These are gorgeous. you get a variety of sizes. makes a nice effect on the tree.

how do you hang these without a hole? are people hot gluing the string to them?

I did not buy mine to hand . I put them on my lighted table runner.
