VERY good quality, and easy to put together.
I bought this for my senior dog to be able to join me easily on the couch. The box was fairly large but everything was packed in styrofoam, so well protected from bumps and bangs. Once opened, I was impressed how well everything was packed. As I took the pieces out, I was impressed with the quality! My dad was a master carpenter, and this product is well designed and well made. The railing braces are vertical and not perpendicular to the railing ( big quality indicator ) and not nailed in, I suspect they're pegged or posted in - more quality. And the fact that it's all put together with screws and hidden nuts? Wow. More quality. My dad would be impressed. As you can see in the picture, I layed everything out first. Disclaimer here, I have an industrial design degree, and I worked with my dad in his shop from an early age. So I know how things work, go together and about hardware and tools. This was very easy to put together, just by following the instructions. It comes with the allen wrench you'll need, but get a screwdriver too. Doesn't matter flat or Phillips (but you will need a Phillips for the last three screws). You'll need it to help line up the transverse nuts. Lay everything out, know what's what. Follow the directions. The 'hardest' part was getting the transverse nuts to line up for the bolts, and that's where the screwdriver comes in handy. Don't be afraid to turn it over and work on it upside down, just check, check and check again that things are in the right direction. Those nuts are tricky. Don't get mad if the bolt won't go in, try another bolt or switch out the nut. Also, I didn't fully tighten the bolts along the edge of the ramp until I had it, and the rubber mat in. Oh, and the tape mentioned in the parts list was already installed on my ramp, so pay attention to which side you use as 'up' and make sure it's at the floor end.All in all, it took me 40 minutes to put together, but I have a really bad cold and took a couple of cough and blow breaks. I am also very methodical and look at everything twice. I think it could be done in 20 - 30 minutes. It appeared at first that I was a bolt short, but nope, you don't need a bolt for 'nothing' ( last picture) so it was fine.I don't find that the rubber mat smells but that could be my cold. It is high quality and definitely non slip. The ramp is gentle and as soon as Dede gets used to seeing it, I'm sure she'll use it too. She already knows it's how to get on the couch, it's just different for an old girl...I would definitely buy again and I hope the taller version becomes available again soon.

Sturdy ramp-with-railing perfect for our injured small dog
The first dog ramp we got was the adjustable dog ramp that doesn't have rails (see in pic, next to this ramp). Both ramps very well made - no issues there. But first ramp is only 40" long, making the incline steeper, which wasn't working for our dog. He's a mini-dashund mix with injured back, so he walks wonky, and the steeper incline combined with no railings made going up&down dicey. So we got this ramp to compare, and it's awesome! It's longer (51") allowing the incline to be less steep. The landing at the top is great. The railing corrals him in, forcing him to use ramp, which makes all of us feel safer. And I like the non-slip tread on this ramp better than the non-slip tread on other ramp.I'm including a pic of the 2 ramps side-by-side, so you can see differences. This took about 1.5hrs to put together, all by my female self. :) COUNT YOUR PIECES before you start!! Not because you might be shorted, but rather because you may have been given MORE than what they state in instructions (those polite Canadians!). I worked so carefully thru each step, and at the end I had one extra of 2 main pieces and thought "wha???" and might have undone some of my work to figure out where I'd forgotten to use a "transverse hole nut" (yup, now I know what that is)... but luckily the next and final step was putting the little screw covers on each hole, and I saw that I'd been given 10 instead of 9. (see pic) Whew, ok.. must have been given extras of those other 2 pieces as well. This ramp obviously hogs up couch-front space, but it's what we need for our injured dog. Great product! Hoping this company will restart making the bed-version I've read about -- I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

Bought 3 of these
This ramp is expensive but worth the price. My dogs are all old and these ramps are sturdy and easy to go up and down. They are also beautiful.

Nice design. Poor craftsmanship
The original handcrafted prototype ramp was probably amazing. Not so much this cheaply-made Chinese outsourced version. From afar, it looks nice. But the finishing details are inferior to IKEA furniture - very disappointing considering the $200 price tag... Screw holes, joint seams, and hardware are all a bit wonky, so nothing really aligns perfectly. And the clear lacquer makes the pine wood look and feel more like plastic (one side rail also has ugly drip marks). The American-made rubber runner is the only exception to my critique, and is of excellent quality. The length and angle of the ramp is also a bit steep for our dachshunds. We chose the couch model ramp because it's the perfect height for accessing our 17"H platform king bed. But, I wish the ramp was longer, or, the bed ramp model wasn't so tall (a shame Dog Quality doesn't offer a third "in between" size option). On the plus side, the ramp did arrive a week earlier than suggested - 3 weeks from order date, not 4. I guess it ships from China to Canada so the seller can manually insert the rubber runner? Anyway, it felt a long time to wait in this instant gratification online ordering day and age :-)Overall, I'd grade this ramp a B. It's a much better design than the other collapsible dog ramps available. It's also sturdy enough to handle use by our spoiled sausage dog pack. But, I feel Dog Quality would do better finding a Chinese manufacturer with higher quality control standards to justify the ramp's price tag. Though, maybe I'm just being a bit of a fussy "Karen"? 🤷

Amazing
We purchased this ramp as our chihuahua fractured her back leg , when she jumped off the couch. After waiting 2 weeks, I can say this ramp is worth the wait. Our chihuahua has her favorite spot to sit at the front window to see outside, and she couldn't do this because she is not able to jump on anything or even walk far on 3 legs. With that being said, this ramp was easy to build, very sturdy, made top notch and my baby loves it. It took a day for her to understand what the ramp was for. Now she goes up and down and is happy to be able to see out the window again. I highly recommend anyone who needs this for your fur baby to buy it. So worth the money, and the long wait also. A great product.

Our 12 year old cat loves the new ramp
I wasn't sure about this ramp because it looked like it would take up a good amount of space in our small bedroom. However, given how much our cat loves this ramp, it is worth it. He immediately went up and down the ramp twice within about 5 minutes after I finished putting it together and put next to our bed. Our cat is 12 years old and was struggling jumping down from the bed and sometimes hurting himself. This ramp solves the problem. Its sturdy for him and I think he likes the security of having a railing on the ramp. All-in-all very happy with this pet ramp.
